Can't find RESEA activity on PA CareerLink for required phone interview - help needed

I'm so confused with this PA unemployment stuff! Just got notified that I need to schedule a mandatory phone interview with CareerLink as part of my UC requirements, but the instructions say I have to register through something called a "RESEA activity" and I can't find it anywhere on the website. I've already created an account and I'm logged into CareerLink, but I'm completely lost on where to find this RESEA thing. If I don't schedule this interview, I think they might put a hold on my benefits or something? Can anyone who's gone through this recently tell me where exactly on CareerLink I need to go? Screenshots would be amazing if anyone has them. Thanks in advance!

The same thing happened to me last month!! Its SO frustrating how they make everything so complicated. I spent like 3 hours looking for that stupid RESEA activity link and almost gave up. Did you try clicking on the "Events" tab at the top? Thats where I finally found it after clicking around forever. If your required to do it, it should show up there as a mandatory activity you need to register for.

Thanks for responding! I checked the Events tab but don't see anything about RESEA there... just a bunch of job fairs and workshops. Should it be obvious or is it hidden somewhere in there?

RESEA stands for Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment. It's not actually in the main CareerLink navigation menu. You need to go to your Dashboard after logging in, then look for "My Calendar" or "Upcoming Events" section. If you've been selected for RESEA, you'll see it listed there as a required activity. Click on it and you'll get the scheduling options. If you don't see it there, it could mean one of two things: either you weren't actually selected for the RESEA program (not everyone is), or there might be a technical issue with your account. Did you receive an official letter or email notification saying you specifically need to complete RESEA?

Yes, I did get an official email from PA UC saying I need to do this RESEA thing as part of my ongoing eligibility. I just checked my Dashboard again but I don't see a Calendar or Upcoming Events section anywhere. Is there another way to find it? I'm getting worried because they said I only have 7 days to schedule it.

The PA unemployment system is GARBAGE!!! I had the same issue last year and wasted THREE WEEKS trying to get it resolved. The online system never worked right for me either. You're going to end up having to call them because their website is broken like everything else they run. Good luck getting through though - I spent days hearing busy signals before I finally got through to anyone. They'll probably blame you for "not following instructions" even though THEIR system doesn't work properly. Welcome to PA unemployment!

So true! The whole system seems designed to make people give up. I had a similar issue with missing links on my account.

When I had to do my RESEA activity last month, I had to access it from the email link they sent, not directly through the CareerLink website. Try checking your email again (including spam folder) for a direct link. The email subject line should be something like "Mandatory RESEA Program Selection" or "Action Required: RESEA Registration". If you can't find the email or the link doesn't work, I'd recommend using Claimyr to get through to an agent quickly (claimyr.com). They helped me get connected with PA UC when I had issues with my RESEA registration not showing up properly. They have a video demo of how it works here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. It saved me hours of frustration and busy signals. The agent I spoke with was able to manually add the RESEA activity to my profile and get everything fixed.

Thank you! I'll check my spam folder again. If it's not there, I might try that Claimyr thing you mentioned. At this point I just need to get this resolved before they cut off my benefits.

Hi there! Let me explain exactly how to find your RESEA activity on PA CareerLink: 1. Log in to your PA CareerLink account 2. On the main dashboard, look for "My Upcoming Appointments" section (it's usually on the right side) 3. If you don't see that section, click on "Services" in the top navigation 4. Then select "Recommended Services" from the dropdown 5. Look for "RESEA Orientation" or "RESEA Assessment" in the list 6. Click on the RESEA service and you'll get scheduling options If you still don't see it, there's another place to check: 1. Click on your profile icon (top right corner) 2. Select "Message Center" 3. Check for messages with RESEA in the subject line Sometimes the RESEA activity won't appear until exactly 7 days after you receive the initial notification. Also, make sure you're using Chrome or Edge browsers - the site often has issues with Safari or Firefox. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for these detailed instructions! I just tried following them and found it under Services > Recommended Services. It was literally the last place I would have looked. I've scheduled my phone interview for next week. Really appreciate everyone's help!

I had to do RESEA last year and I remember it was confusing to find. After the interview, make sure you complete all the follow-up activities they assign or you might have issues with your benefits. They made me do a resume review and 2 workshops after my interview. Just a heads-up!

Thanks for the heads-up! Did they tell you about the follow-up activities during the phone interview?

Yes, during the phone interview they'll go through all the requirements and assign specific follow-up activities based on your situation. They give you deadlines for each one. Make sure to write everything down!

Just wanted to add that the RESEA program is actually designed to help with your job search, not just to make you jump through hoops. The mandatory interview includes personalized career counseling and they'll try to match you with opportunities in your field. Many people find it helpful, even though the scheduling part can be frustrating. Make sure to prepare for the interview by updating your resume and having a list of your recent job search activities ready to discuss.

I'm so glad you were able to find it and get your interview scheduled! This thread is super helpful - I'm bookmarking it in case I run into the same issue. The PA CareerLink website really isn't user-friendly at all. @James Maki thanks for those step-by-step instructions, they're perfect for anyone else who might be struggling with this. Good luck with your interview next week @Aisha Jackson!

Absolutely agree! This whole thread should be pinned or something - so many people seem to run into this exact same issue with finding the RESEA activity. I went through the RESEA program about 6 months ago and it was actually pretty helpful once I got past all the technical difficulties. The career counselor I worked with gave me some great tips for updating my LinkedIn profile and helped me identify some job search strategies I hadn't thought of. @Aisha Jackson - definitely go into that interview with an open mind, even though the process to get there was frustrating!

This thread has been so helpful! I'm actually dealing with a similar issue right now - got the RESEA notification yesterday and was panicking about where to find it. @James Maki your step-by-step instructions are a lifesaver, I'm going to try them as soon as I get home. It's crazy how they make this process so confusing when it's supposedly mandatory for everyone. @Aisha Jackson glad you got it sorted out! Did they give you any specific things to prepare for the interview or just general job search stuff?

Hey @Morita Montoya! When I scheduled mine, they just said to have my recent work history ready and be prepared to discuss what types of jobs I've been applying for. Nothing too crazy - just basic stuff about your job search activities. The whole process was way less intimidating than I expected once I actually got on the phone with them. Definitely try those steps from @James Maki - they worked perfectly for me! Good luck getting yours scheduled!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Just got my RESEA notification email this morning and was totally lost trying to find where to schedule it. Reading through this thread has been a huge relief - at least I know I'm not the only one struggling with this confusing system. @James Maki your detailed instructions are amazing, I'm going to try them right after I finish reading all these comments. It's so frustrating that something that's supposedly "mandatory" is hidden so deep in the website that nobody can find it! @Aisha Jackson so glad you got it figured out, gives me hope that I'll be able to find mine too. Has anyone else noticed that the PA unemployment system seems designed to make everything as difficult as possible? It's like they want people to give up...

@Julia Hall I totally feel your frustration! I just went through this whole ordeal myself a few weeks ago and it was such a nightmare trying to navigate their system. You re'absolutely right that it feels like they re'trying to make people give up - I was starting to wonder if that was intentional! But don t'worry, once you follow @James Maki s instructions'you should be able to find it. The key thing is to look under Services > Recommended Services rather than trying to find it in the obvious places. And @Aisha Jackson is proof that it does work once you know where to look! Just make sure you schedule it as soon as you find the link - I heard they can be pretty strict about those 7-day deadlines. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

This whole thread has been incredibly helpful! I'm bookmarking this for sure. @James Maki thank you so much for those step-by-step instructions - they should honestly put those right on the PA CareerLink homepage since this seems to be such a common issue. I went through RESEA about 8 months ago and had the exact same problem finding where to schedule it. Back then I ended up calling and waiting on hold for literally 4 hours before someone could help me locate it in the system. For anyone still struggling with this, I'd also suggest clearing your browser cache before trying to navigate to the RESEA activity - sometimes the CareerLink site gets glitchy and doesn't display all the options properly. And definitely use Chrome or Edge like @James Maki mentioned. I was using Safari initially and half the buttons didn't even work. @Aisha Jackson so glad you got it sorted out! The actual RESEA interview is really not bad at all - much more helpful than intimidating. They'll probably ask about your job search methods and might suggest some resources you haven't tried yet. Just be honest about what you've been doing and they're usually pretty supportive.

@Logan Chiang that s'such a great point about clearing the browser cache! I wish I had known that when I was trying to find my RESEA activity - I probably would have saved myself hours of frustration. The Safari issue is so real too, I ve'noticed PA CareerLink just doesn t'play nice with certain browsers. It s'honestly ridiculous that we have to troubleshoot basic website functionality just to access mandatory unemployment services, but at least we have threads like this to help each other out! Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here - it makes dealing with this broken system so much less stressful when you know other people have figured out the workarounds.

Wow, this thread is a goldmine of information! I just got selected for RESEA this week and was about to panic trying to figure out where to find it. @James Maki your step-by-step instructions are absolutely perfect - I just followed them and found my RESEA activity right where you said it would be under Services > Recommended Services. Seriously, you should write a guide or something because this is way clearer than anything on the official PA CareerLink help pages! It's honestly mind-boggling how they can make a mandatory requirement so hard to locate on their own website. I was clicking around for over an hour before I found this thread. @Aisha Jackson glad you got yours scheduled - gives me confidence that the actual interview won't be as stressful as trying to find where to sign up for it! For anyone else dealing with this, I'd also recommend taking screenshots once you find the RESEA section, just in case you need to navigate back there later. The PA unemployment system has taught me to document everything because you never know when something might mysteriously disappear or stop working. Thanks again everyone for sharing your experiences - this community is so much more helpful than the official support channels!

@Jayden Hill Yes, taking screenshots is such smart advice! I learned that lesson the hard way with PA unemployment - I had to go back and find something I had completed earlier and of course the page looked completely different the second time around. It s'like their website randomly reorganizes itself just to keep us confused! I m'so glad this thread exists because honestly, the official PA CareerLink help section is basically useless. They have these generic instructions that don t'match what you actually see on the site. At least here we have real people sharing what actually works. @James Maki seriously deserves an award for those instructions - they should hire him to rewrite their help documentation!
