PA UC payments split into two deposits - is this normal for back payments?
Has anyone else gotten their backpay split into separate deposits? I just checked my Money Network card this morning and noticed they paid me my back unemployment, but weirdly they split it into 2 different payments showing up on different days? One payment hit yesterday ($1475) and the second one ($1823) just posted today. Is this normal or should I be worried something's wrong with my claim? Been waiting almost 5 weeks for these back payments to process and don't want any more delays!

yep happened to me last month. they do that sometimes when catching up on backdated payments or if they owe you for different types of weeks

•Oh good! That makes me feel better. Did you notice if they had different payment numbers in your payment history online? Mine look totally separate.

This is actually normal with PA UC when processing multiple weeks of back payments. The system often splits large payments for security reasons or because they're processing different claim weeks that had different statuses. As long as the total amount matches what you're expecting from your weekly benefit amount × number of weeks (minus taxes if you have those withheld), you should be fine. You can verify all payment details in your payment history on the PA UC dashboard.

I'm dealing with the same thing right now! Got $1290 yesterday and waiting on another $1720 that still says "in progress" on my payment history. Did both of yours show up in your payment history right away or did one appear later than the other? I'm getting stressed that the second payment is stuck somewhere.

•Both showed up in my payment history but one said "in progress" until it actually hit my card. Took about 36 hours between the first and second one showing up as "paid". Hope yours comes through soon!

If you're having trouble reaching PA Unemployment to confirm this is normal (and it usually is), I recommend trying Claimyr. I was in the same boat with split payments and couldn't get through on the regular UC number after 40+ calls. Used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got connected to a rep in about 20 minutes who confirmed my payments were processing correctly. They have a demo video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2

This happened 2 me also but 1 of the payments ended up being an error and they put an overpayment on my account 2 months later!!! Make sure both payments r legitimately yours or you'll have 2 pay it back later with penalties!! Call them and confirm asap!!

•Oh no, that sounds like a nightmare! I just checked and both payments match exactly the weeks I claimed and the amounts look right. But now I'm worried they'll come back later saying it was wrong 😬

For everyone worried about overpayments - while they do happen, split payments themselves are not a sign of an error. But it's always good practice to verify your benefit payment history matches your records of weeks claimed. Keep all your weekly filing confirmations and payment transaction records just in case. The UC system does process multiple weeks in batches sometimes, especially after resolving an issue that held up multiple payments.

•Thanks for the reassurance. I've been taking screenshots of everything just to be safe. The payments do match exactly what I was expecting for the weeks they owed me.
