PA UC payment schedule when filing on Monday vs. account lockout issues
I'm so confused about the payment timing with PA UC. I always file my weekly claim on Sunday, but this week my account got locked yesterday (no idea why???) and I had to wait until today (Monday) to sort it out and file. Will this delay when I get paid? Normally my direct deposit hits my account Wednesday morning. Should I expect it Thursday now? Or even later? This is stressing me out because I have bills auto-drafted on Wednesday afternoon. Has anyone else had their account randomly lock them out? It kept saying my PIN was wrong even though I KNOW I was typing it correctly!

If you file Monday, you'll probably get paid Thursday. That's been my experience. One day later filing = one day later payment. And yeah, the PIN thing is so annoying! Same thing happened to me last month - I swear the system just glitches sometimes and locks people out for no reason.

•Thanks for the info! Glad I'm not the only one with the PIN issue. Do you think I should change my auto-draft dates for my bills?

The general rule is that UC payments process overnight after you file and typically take 2-3 business days to reach your account. So yes, filing on Monday usually means Thursday deposit for direct deposit. However, if you have the Money Network card, sometimes it can be a day faster. As for the account lockout, this often happens after three incorrect PIN attempts, but there have been some system glitches recently that caused random lockouts. Always make sure to clear your browser cache if you're having login issues.

The PA UC system processes claims in batches. Sunday and Monday filers typically get processed in the Tuesday overnight batch, which means the funds usually reach bank accounts on Thursday for direct deposit (Wednesday for Money Network cards). Regarding your account lockout, there's been a known issue with the system this past weekend where some users were locked out due to a system update. When this happens, you should immediately use the "Forgot PIN" option rather than continuing to try your PIN multiple times, as that can trigger a security lockout that's harder to resolve.

•Thank you for the detailed explanation! I wish they would notify people when they're doing system updates that might cause lockouts. I'll definitely try the Forgot PIN option first next time instead of freaking out and trying multiple times.

I had the exact same problem trying to reach someone at PA UC when my account got locked! Busy signals for DAYS. I finally used this service called Claimyr that got me through to an agent in about 30 minutes. They basically keep calling for you until they get through, then connect you. It saved me so much frustration! Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. The agent was able to unlock my account right away and explained it was due to a system update that affected certain accounts.

•That sounds really helpful! I spent almost two hours redailing yesterday before I finally got through. Will definitely check this out if I have issues again. Did they explain why the system update caused lockouts?

•The agent told me they were updating security features and some accounts got flagged accidentally. She said it affected about 5% of users, mostly people who had recently changed any of their account information or who had filed from a different device or location recently. Did you do either of those things?

The timing depends on your bank too not just when UC sends it. Some banks hold the deposits for an extra day. I file on Mondays sometimes and my credit union always makes it available same day they receive it but my friend with PNC says they hold it until next morning.

I swear the PA UC website is designed to lock people out on purpose to reduce claims!!! Been dealing with this system for 2 years and its ALWAYS something!! Account lockouts PIN problems website crashes!!! Then you cant reach anyone to help fix it!!! The whole system is designed to make people give up!!!

•While the system certainly has its flaws, these issues are typically due to outdated infrastructure rather than intentional obstacles. The UC system was built decades ago and struggles with the volume of claims it processes. They are currently working on a modernization project scheduled to be completed by mid-2025 that should address many of these technical issues.

I've been using PA UC for about 6 months now and I've noticed the payment timing is pretty consistent - Sunday filers get paid Wednesday, Monday filers get paid Thursday. The only exception I've seen is during holiday weeks when everything shifts by a day. As for the lockouts, I had this happen twice and both times it was after I tried logging in from my phone after usually using my computer. Seems like the system flags "unusual" login patterns. Now I always use the same device and haven't had issues since. Hope your payment comes through on time!
