PA UC payment never arrived - no Money Network card or PIN after approval in 2025

My roommate got approved for PA unemployment back in January and it's now been almost 8 weeks with zero money received. The UC office claims they mailed both a check AND a Money Network card, but neither ever showed up! He's done everything right - filing weekly claims, answering their calls, etc. The problem is he can't even access his account online properly because he never got the card with his PIN. Without the PIN, he can't even check his claim status or payment history. He's called the UC service center literally 30+ times but either gets disconnected or is on hold until they close. He's behind on rent now (which affects me too) and is getting desperate. Does anybody know a special number or trick to get through to someone who can help reissue the card and payments? Is there an office he can physically go to? I'm trying to help him figure this out before he gets evicted and we both end up in a mess. Any advice would be SO appreciated!

This is actually a pretty common issue with the Money Network cards - mail theft has been increasing. Here's what he needs to do: 1. Call the Money Network card services directly at 888-233-5916. This is separate from the UC service center and usually has shorter wait times. 2. He'll need to verify his identity, but since he doesn't have the card or PIN, he should tell them he never received the card and they'll use alternative verification methods. 3. Request both a replacement card AND ask about the status of the initial payment check. 4. For his PIN issue with the UC system, he needs to use the PIN reset option on the PA UC website. He can select "Forgot PIN" and they'll mail a new one (to ensure it's going to the correct address this time). The most important thing is documenting everything. Have him write down the date, time and name of everyone he speaks with. This creates a paper trail if there are further delays.

Thank you SO much for this detailed info! I'll have him call Money Network card services first thing tomorrow morning. I didn't realize there was a separate number for the card. Does he need to do anything special to get the actual payments reissued too? Or will fixing the card automatically take care of that part?

ur roomate needs 2 contact treasury dept not UC!!!!! UC approves claims but treasury dept is who actually sends the $$$. plus some payments r on card, some by check, depends on what he selected. he should of got a letter explaining all this stuff like 3 days after aproval. does he check his mail everyday????

He definitely checks his mail daily - we were both actually waiting for it. No letter ever came with those details. And I didn't know about the Treasury Dept vs UC distinction - do you happen to know the Treasury contact number? Thanks!

This exact thing happened to me back in March! So frustrating. I ended up driving to my local CareerLink office in person since I couldn't reach anyone by phone. The staff there couldn't directly fix my issue but they were able to put me in touch with someone from UC who could help. My payments and card arrived about 10 days later. Maybe worth trying if there's an office near you?

That's a really good idea! There's a CareerLink about 25 minutes from us. I didn't even think about going there in person. If the phone calls don't work out tomorrow, we'll definitely try that route. Thanks for sharing what worked for you!

I had a NIGHTMARE with this same situation last year. Called for WEEKS with no luck getting through to anyone. Then I found this service called Claimyr that got me connected to an actual PA UC agent in less than an hour! It was seriously life-changing after all that frustration. Basically they hold your place in line and call you when they get an agent. Here's their website: claimyr.com They have a video showing how it works too: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 Once I actually spoke with someone, they fixed everything quickly and my card and backpay arrived within a week. Definitely worth checking out if the other options don't work!

It honestly worked for me! After weeks of getting absolutely nowhere with the regular phone line, I was skeptical too. But I was desperate and tried it - actually got through to someone who fixed my claim that same day. Just sharing what worked in my similar situation.

The whole PA UC system is DESIGNED TO FAIL! They approve people then mysteriously never send the money. I'm convinced they do this on purpose to save money because they know most people will give up after weeks of trying to reach someone. Your roommate should file a complaint with his state representative's office immediately. That's the ONLY thing that worked for me after 3 months of this exact runaround. The rep's office has special contacts at UC and suddenly my "lost" payments were found within 48 hours. THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN BY DESIGN!!!

While I understand your frustration, I want to clarify that most payment issues are due to the high volume of claims and staffing shortages, not an intentional design to withhold funds. However, contacting your state representative is excellent advice! They do have dedicated channels to escalate UC issues. I work with clients dealing with UC issues regularly, and legislative offices can often resolve these matters quickly when direct approaches haven't worked.

Update: My roommate tried calling Money Network this morning and confirmed they did try to mail him a card in January, but it was returned as undeliverable even though our address is correct. He also managed to get through to UC after trying that Claimyr service someone mentioned below. The UC agent explained there was a glitch in their system where his address verification got flagged even though all his info was correct. They've fixed it now and are reissuing both the check and card. Should arrive within 7-10 business days. Thanks everyone for your help!

thats great! btw tell him to take pictures of the envelope when it comes, my brother had his stolen from mailbox twice before he got a PO box. these thieves know what to look for with unemployment stuff

That's a really good tip - we'll definitely do that! Maybe we should consider a PO box too if this happens again. Thanks!

Glad to hear your roommate got it resolved! For anyone else reading this thread with similar issues, here's a quick summary of options for payment/card problems with PA unemployment: 1. Call Money Network directly: 888-233-5916 for card issues 2. Use Claimyr to reach PA UC agents for claim/payment problems 3. Visit a local CareerLink office in person 4. Contact your state representative's office 5. Request address verification if payments are returned Also, it's good practice to set up direct deposit if possible through the PA UC portal once you have access, as it's generally more reliable than the card system.

As someone who works in social services, I want to add that if anyone is facing eviction or urgent financial hardship while waiting for UC payments, there are emergency assistance programs that can help bridge the gap. Many counties in PA have emergency rental assistance funds, and 211 (dial 2-1-1) can connect you to local resources for food banks, utility assistance, and emergency housing support. Don't wait until you're actually evicted - these programs often have waiting lists, so apply early. Also, document all your UC communication attempts as this proof of delayed benefits can sometimes help expedite emergency aid applications.
