PA UC payment approved today with 3/1 date - when will Money Network card receive funds over weekend?

FINALLY got approved for PA unemployment after 5 weeks of waiting!!! My portal updated today showing payment date of 3/1 but there's no transaction number yet. Does anyone know how long it takes for funds to hit the Money Network card? I'm worried because tomorrow is Friday and then it's the weekend... will that slow things down? I've been surviving on ramen noodles waiting for this to come through and really need to buy groceries ASAP. Should I expect the money tomorrow or will I be waiting until Monday/Tuesday? 🙏

Congrats on the approval! When the payment date shows up, that means the funds have been processed and released from UC. Generally with Money Network cards, it takes 1-2 business days after the payment date for the funds to be available. Since your payment date is 3/1, you'll likely see the funds available on your card by Monday, possibly Tuesday at the latest. Weekend definitely slows things down unfortunately.

Ughhh Monday seems so far away but at least it's coming! Do you think there's any chance it could hit tomorrow? The payment date is literally tomorrow (3/1

same boat!! just got approved yesterday after waiting since january!! the anxiety is REAL lol

Omg January?? That's insane! Did your money come through yet or are you still waiting too?

It takes 48-72 hrs for Money Network to process after PA UC releases the payment. Since tomorrow is Friday you probably wont see it till Monday. Weekends dont count as business days for them unfortuntly.

That's what I was afraid of... wish they'd process faster when people are literally struggling to eat 😞

I've been through this process several times with PA unemployment. Here's exactly what happens: Once you see a payment date, PA UC has released the funds to Money Network. The lack of a transaction number just means it's in that initial processing stage. Money Network typically takes 1-2 business days to make funds available after they receive them from UC. Since your payment date is 3/1 (tomorrow), Money Network will receive the funds tomorrow, but since their processing takes 1-2 business days and weekends don't count, you'll most likely see the funds available Monday afternoon, or Tuesday morning at the latest. One tip - you can call the Money Network customer service number on the back of your card to check if pending deposits are showing in their system before they appear as available in your balance. Sometimes they can see it's coming before you can.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! This helps a lot. I'll try calling Money Network tomorrow afternoon to see if they can tell me anything.

I had this happen in January - got approved on a Thursday with payment date for Friday, didnt see my $$ until Tuesday the next week! The weekend defintely delays everything with PA UC and the stupid Money Network card. wish they still did direct deposit like other states!!

they actually do offer direct deposit now. you have to set it up in your dashboard under payment options. switched mine last month and its MUCH faster

If you're tired of dealing with these delays, I highly recommend using Claimyr to get through to an actual PA UC rep. I was in a similar situation - approved but no money showing up - and I was going crazy trying to get answers! Kept getting busy signals for days. Found this service at claimyr.com that got me connected to a UC agent in under 15 minutes. They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 The rep I spoke with was able to tell me exactly when my money would hit my card and even expedited my payment. Worth it if you're frustrated with trying to reach someone.

I've never heard of this before! Does it actually work? I've tried calling so many times and just get the busy signal.

Yes, it actually works! I was skeptical too but I was desperate after trying to call for a week straight. Got through to someone who could see exactly what was happening with my payment. They can't make miracles happen but at least you get real answers instead of guessing.

EVERYBODY LISTEN UP!!!! The PAT unemployment system is DELIBERATELY slow with payments to save the state money!!! They make us wait on purpose - each day they hold our money they earn interest on it. I worked in government and know how this works. The "2-3 business day" excuse is just that - AN EXCUSE!!!

That's not accurate. The payment processing timeline is determined by electronic fund transfer protocols and processing capabilities between different financial systems. The interest earned on funds for 1-2 days would be negligible compared to the administrative costs of the UC system. The delays are due to technical limitations and verification processes, not some conspiracy to hold onto funds.

WAKE UP!!! When you multiply those "negligible" amounts by THOUSANDS of claims it adds up to MILLIONS$$$. The system is DESIGNED to be slow. I've seen it from the inside!!!

btw did u have to do the waiting week? or was this ur first payment?

This includes my waiting week. I filed 5 weeks ago, and they finally processed everything. So I'll be getting 4 weeks of payments since the first week is the waiting week where you don't get paid.

Just to give you an update: I checked the PA UC processing schedule and if your payment date is 3/1, that means the file was sent to Money Network today (2/29). Money Network typically processes their files overnight, so there's a small chance you could see it tomorrow afternoon, but Monday is more realistic due to their internal processing times.

UPDATE: You were right!! Just checked my Money Network card and the money is there!!! It posted this morning (Monday). Thanks everyone for the help and information. Such a relief to finally have some funds!
