Do I need to upload proof of PA CareerLink registration for UC work search requirements?
I just got approved for PA unemployment last week and I'm trying to make sure I'm doing everything right with the work search requirements. I've signed up with PA CareerLink and already started applying to jobs, but I'm confused about whether I need to upload documentation to my Dashboard proving that I registered with CareerLink? The instructions weren't super clear on this part. Do I need to take a screenshot of my CareerLink registration and upload it somewhere in my UC portal, or is registering enough? I don't want my payments to get held up because I missed a step. Thanks for any help!

You don't need to upload proof of your PA CareerLink registration to your UC Dashboard. The UC system and CareerLink are connected, so they can verify your registration automatically. Just make sure you're tracking your weekly work search activities - you need to complete at least two per week and be prepared to provide details if requested. You'll enter these activities when you file your weekly claims.

•Thank you so much! That's a relief. I was worried I'd have to figure out how to upload screenshots or something. So I just need to make sure I'm doing my two work search activities weekly and entering them when I file, right?

•That's actually not necessary. The systems are integrated now, so PA UC can verify your CareerLink registration automatically. The important part is completing and recording your two work search activities each week when you file your biweekly claims.

The PA UC system is TERRIBLE about making requirements clear!!!! I spent THREE WEEKS having my payments delayed because nobody told me I needed to do work search activities starting from week one. Don't trust that the systems are 'automatically' connected - DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Take screenshots of your CareerLink registration AND all your job applications. Their system glitches ALL THE TIME and then they blame YOU when they can't find your information!!!

•Same thing happened to my cousin! She had to appeal a denial because the system didn't show her work searches even though she did them every week. Document everything!

When I was on unemployment last year I registered with CareerLink but never uploaded anything to my dashboard. Got all my payments no problem. Just make sure you do your two work search activities every week and record them when you file.

If you're still struggling to get clear answers about your UC claim or work search requirements, you might want to try Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was getting nowhere trying to reach someone at PA UC about my work search questions, but Claimyr got me connected to an actual person at UC in about 20 minutes. They have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. Saved me tons of frustration when I had similar questions about what documentation I needed.

•I've been trying to call them with no luck! Does this actually work? I'm willing to try anything at this point to get a clear answer directly from UC.

•Yes! I was skeptical too but it worked for me when I had questions about my work search documentation. I got through to an actual UC rep who answered all my questions about what I needed to document and what I didn't. Way better than guessing.

Hey so a little off topic but does anyone know if job interviews count as one of the work search activities? I've got an interview next week but not sure if that counts toward my two activities or if I still need to do something else too??

•Yes, attending a job interview absolutely counts as one work search activity! The other activities that qualify include: applying for jobs, creating a resume, attending job fairs, taking a civil service test, or participating in a workshop at PA CareerLink. Just make sure you keep track of the details (date, company name, position, etc.) so you can report it when you file your claim.

Thank you everyone for your help! I feel much better now understanding that I don't need to upload my CareerLink registration proof. I'll make sure to keep track of all my work search activities each week and report them when I file. I might still try Claimyr to get through to someone at UC just to make sure I'm doing everything right from the beginning. Really appreciate all the advice!
