Lost OKDHS EBT card: How long for replacement? Advice needed for fraud prevention and payments
I lost my credit card and I'm freaking out. Has anyone gone through this before? How long does it usually take to get a replacement? I can't remember if I used it recently or where I might have lost it. Any advice on what to do in the meantime? I'm worried about potential fraud and not being able to make payments. Help!

Haha, sometimes a forced break from spending isn't the worst thing. But make sure your essentials are covered!

To address your concerns about fraud and making payments while you wait for a replacement, you can take a few steps to protect yourself. Immediately report your lost card to your bank to ensure it's cancelled and a new one is issued. Most banks offer expedited shipping for a replacement card, sometimes for a small fee. In the meantime, review your recent transactions for any unauthorized charges and inform your bank of them. Updating any automatic payments linked to your lost card is crucial to avoid missed payments. Additionally, consider using mobile payment apps or virtual cards as a temporary solution. These can be set up to directly link to your bank account or other financial services. Keep track of your credit report over the next few months to identify any signs of fraud early. If contacting your bank has been challenging, tools like Claimyr can help expedite the process by managing the hold time for you. Though it's a paid service, it can save you the frustration of long wait times. However, remember that ultimately, banks are equipped to handle such situations, and most have a zero liability policy for fraudulent charges.

Protip: Take a pic of the front and back of your card (obvs block out the security code) and store it securely. Makes it way easier to update autopayments when this happens.

Just make sure the photo is stored in a secure place, like a password-protected folder, to prevent any misuse.

Hey, I found a method to get someone on the phone fast. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/t439IQdM0yQ

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. These companies should do better.

I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me hours of frustration. Worth it IMO.

Interesting concept, but I hope companies improve their customer service to make such tools unnecessary in the future.

Quick question - did you have any virtual card numbers set up? Some banks offer those for online shopping. Might be a good backup if you did!

Virtual card numbers are a great idea for added security. Even if you didn't lose your card, it's worth setting them up.

Am I the only one who thinks its crazy we still rely on little plastic cards in 2023? Like, there's gotta be a better way, right? 🤔

We need more innovation in payment technology, but for now, having multiple options is key.

Dude, chill. It's not the end of the world. Just call the bank and theyll sort it out. In the meantime, use cash or mobile payments if you can. No biggie.

Agreed, no need to panic. Banks deal with this all the time. Just stay on top of it and you'll be fine.

True, but mobile payments can be a good option if you set them up beforehand. They can save you in situations like this.

Has anyone else noticed how GARBAGE customer service is these days? I lost my card last year and was on hold for HOURS trying to report it. The system is broken, I swear.

Have you tried calling early in the morning? I usually have better luck then.

I find that using a chat service or app sometimes gets a faster response than calling.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Call your bank immediately to report the card lost 2. Check your recent transactions for any suspicious activity 3. Update any automatic payments linked to that card 4. Ask about expedited shipping for your new card 5. Consider setting up mobile payments as a backup 6. Keep an eye on your credit report for the next few months Remember, most banks have zero liability policies for fraud, so don't stress too much. Just act fast and stay vigilant!

Great advice! I'd add: make a list of all recurring payments on that card so you don't miss any when updating.

Ugh, been there done that. First things first, call your bank ASAP and report it lost. They'll cancel the card and start the process for a new one. Most banks can expedite it if you ask nicely (and maybe pay a small fee).

This is spot on! Calling the bank immediately is crucial. They can sometimes issue a temporary card number for immediate use.
