EDD payment missing for 3 weeks - what should I do?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble finding my payment. It's been a while since I last got one and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced delays recently? I'm wondering if there have been any changes to the system that I'm not aware of. Any advice on what I should do next?

When was the last time you got paid? Have you checked your claim status online? Sometimes there are updates there that explain why payments might be delayed.

Thanks for asking. My last payment was about 3 weeks ago. I've checked online but everything looks normal. That's why I'm so confused 🤔

3 weeks is a long time! Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be persistent to get answers.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it IMO if you're desperate to talk to someone.

How long did you have to wait once they connected you?

Not long at all. Maybe 5 minutes? Way better than spending all day trying to get through.

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's been almost a month for me. The system is so broken, I swear they're doing this on purpose to make us give up. 🤬

Preach! 🙌 It's like they want us to suffer. We need to organize and demand better treatment!

Guys, lets not jump to conclusions. The system is overloaded, but I dont think theyre purposely withholding payments.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check your claim status online. Look for any pending issues or required actions. 2. Verify your contact information is up to date. 3. Check if you've received any mail or emails requesting additional information. 4. If everything looks good, try contacting them through multiple channels - phone, email, and even social media. 5. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 6. If you still can't get through, consider reaching out to your local representative's office. They can sometimes help expedite claims. 7. As a last resort, you might want to try that calling service someone mentioned earlier. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but you'll get your payment eventually. Good luck!

This is great advice. I'd add: make sure you're still certifying for benefits every week, even if you're not getting paid. It'll make backpay easier when they sort it out.

Have you considered that your benefit year might have ended? Sometimes you need to reapply even if you still have a balance.

Oh, I didn't even think of that! How do I check when my benefit year ends?

It should be on your initial award letter. If you can't find it, it's usually one year from when you first applied. Def worth looking into!
