what time unemployment direct deposit hits NYS Department of Labor
does anyone know what time the unemployment direct deposit usually comes through? i set up direct deposit last month and got my first payment on tuesday but cant remember what time it showed up in my account. need to know if i should expect it early morning or later in the day so i can plan around it. using chase bank if that matters for timing.

For most people with NYS Department of Labor direct deposit, it typically hits between 2-4 AM on Tuesday mornings. Some banks process earlier than others though. Chase usually processes around 3 AM in my experience. Make sure you certified your weekly claim by Sunday night to get it Tuesday.

Wait is yours actually coming on Tuesday? Mine has been coming Wednesday mornings and I file my weekly claim every Sunday. Should I be worried something is wrong with my NYS Department of Labor account?

•Wednesday deposits usually mean there was a delay in processing or you might have filed your weekly claim late. Check your payment history on my.ny.gov to see if there are any holds or issues. Sometimes adjudication can delay payments even if you're not notified.

If you're having trouble getting through to NYS Department of Labor to check on payment timing issues, I used claimyr.com recently. They helped me get through to an actual agent when I was worried about a delayed direct deposit. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Way easier than trying to call yourself and getting hung up on.

Just FYI for anyone reading this - if you switch from check to direct deposit mid-claim, there can be a 1-2 week delay while NYS Department of Labor processes the change. Don't panic if your first direct deposit doesn't come exactly when expected.

I've been getting my NYS unemployment direct deposits at around 2:45 AM on Tuesdays with TD Bank. One thing I learned is that holiday weeks can push it back a day, so if Monday is a federal holiday expect it Wednesday instead. Also make sure you're checking the right account - I accidentally had mine going to an old savings account for two weeks before I realized!

•Good point about the holiday delays! I just started collecting and didn't know about that. Also thanks for mentioning checking the right account - I almost made that mistake too when setting up my direct deposit info.
