Where to file weekly claim for unemployment - NYS Department of Labor website not working
I'm supposed to file my weekly claim today but I can't figure out where to do it on the NYS Department of Labor website. I've been looking all over my.ny.gov but nothing is working right. The links keep taking me to pages that say 'service unavailable' or just timeout completely. This is my third week on unemployment and I'm getting really stressed about missing the deadline. Does anyone know the exact steps to get to the weekly claim filing page? I tried calling but gave up after being on hold for 2 hours.

You need to log into your my.ny.gov account first, then look for the 'Unemployment Services' section on your dashboard. From there, click on 'Online Services' and you should see the weekly claim certification option. Make sure you're filing between Sunday at 6 AM and Friday at 7:30 PM - the system is down for maintenance outside those hours.

•Thank you! I found the unemployment services section but when I click online services it just shows my claim summary. Am I missing something?

The NYS Department of Labor website has been really glitchy lately. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies completely, then log back in. Sometimes you have to click 'Weekly Claim Certification' under the 'Claim Maintenance' menu instead of the main dashboard link.

•If you're still having technical issues, you might want to try filing by phone at 888-209-8124. The automated system usually works even when the website is having problems.

I had this exact same issue two weeks ago and was freaking out about missing my weekly claim. Someone on here recommended using Claimyr to get through to an actual NYS Department of Labor agent who could help me file it over the phone. I was skeptical at first but went to claimyr.com and watched their demo video (https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI) - it actually worked and I got connected to someone who walked me through the whole process. Saved me hours of frustration with the website.

•Never heard of that service before but I'm desperate at this point. Did they charge you anything for it?

•They do charge a fee but honestly it was worth it for me since I was about to miss my filing deadline. Way better than spending another day fighting with the website or sitting on hold.

Make sure you're not confusing the initial claim filing with weekly certification. For weekly claims, you should see a green button that says 'Certify for Benefits' once you're logged into your unemployment account. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to load properly.

just a heads up - if you miss filing your weekly claim you can still do it late but they might ask questions about why you missed the deadline when you certify next time
