Waiting week processed but no NY unemployment payment for 3 weeks now
My waiting week was processed on 9/12/23 and I still haven't received any deposits after 3 weeks. I've sent two direct messages to the unemployment office through their portal with no response. I certified every week correctly since then. The system shows my claim is valid and I'm eligible, but nothing has hit my bank account. Has anyone else had their waiting week processed but then nothing happens after? What should I do next since messaging them isn't working?

Dude same thing happened to me back in May. Waiting week processed on 5/08, then crickets for almost a month. I had to call them literally 75+ times. When I finally got through they said there was a "verification flag" on my account that needed to be cleared manually. After they fixed it I got 4 weeks of backpay in one deposit. Keep trying to call them, the online messaging is useless.

•Thanks for sharing. How did you manage to get through on the phone? I've been trying for days and can't get past the automated system.

•Honestly I used a service called claimyr.com that calls for you and connects when they get a human. Worth every penny not to waste hours redialing. Got through in like 45 mins instead of days of trying.

•wait does that actually work? or is it one of those scammy things that never delivers?

•It worked for me 🤷♂️ they just keep calling and then connect you when they get through. Beats spending your whole day hitting redial. Check their reviews online if you're worried.

•I've used this too! My benefits were on hold for 5 weeks and I got them all released after talking to a rep. Talking to a real person was the only thing that fixed my issue.

Found a way to actually talk to someone after weeks of trying! Used this service claimyr.com and they handled all the waiting on hold for me. Talking to a rep solved the exact same problem in like 10 minutes. Never would've gotten my money without actually speaking to someone. They've got a video explaining how it works here: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE - seriously the only thing that worked after trying everything else.

•This sounds like an ad lol... does this actually work or just another money grab?

•I tried this last month when I had payment issues and it actually worked. Got connected with someone who fixed the "pending review" status that had been stuck for weeks. Having an actual person to talk to made all the difference.

Check ur payment history on the website. Sometimes they process it but it doesnt actually go thru to your bank. Mine showed as "paid" for 2 weeks but the bank rejected it cuz they entered my account # wrong even tho I gave them the right info.

This is EXACTLY what's happening to me right now!! My waiting week processed 9/18 and nothing since then. I called yesterday and they said there's a backlog of claims that need manual review before they release payment. The lady said it could take "up to 3 more weeks" to clear 🤬 The system is completely broken.

•I started calling at exactly 7:58am and kept redialing until I got in the queue. Still waited for 1hr 45min tho. The early morning seems to be slightly better.

•Try using claimyr.com - it calls for you and connects when they get a human. Saved me HOURS of redial hell.

It's probably stuck in identity verification. The same thing happened to me in August. Check if there's a DocuSign email they sent you that might've gone to spam. If you didn't complete that, they won't release payments even after the waiting week.

•I checked all my emails including spam and there's nothing from them asking for documents. Is there any other way to check if I need to verify something?

•Log into your account and look for "messages" or "document center" sections. Sometimes they put the requests there instead of emailing. If you don't see anything, you NEED to talk to someone. The messaging system is useless for urgent stuff.

This happened to my roommate last year. Turns out they had him flagged for "additional review" but never told him. He only found out after calling endlessly and finally getting through. Have you checked if your bank info is correct in the system? Sometimes that causes delays too.

THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS A JOKE!! I had to wait SIX WEEKS after my waiting week before I saw a penny. Called every day. Emailed my state representative. Filed complaints. Nothing worked until I finally got through to a tier 2 specialist who fixed it in 2 minutes. Keep calling!!

•this is why i tell everyone to contact their state reps! unemployment doesn't care about us but politicians need our votes lol

•Yep exactly! My rep didn't help much tbh but at least I was DOING something while waiting. The feeling of powerlessness is the worst part.

Here's what you need to do (I work with people navigating NY unemployment issues everyday): 1) First, check your payment history to see if payments are showing as "released" but not hitting your account. If they show as released, it's a banking issue. 2) If no payments show as released, you need to speak with a claims specialist. The online messaging system has a 4-6 week backlog right now. 3) Call early in the morning (7:55am) and keep trying. Alternatively, use a service like claimyr.com that will wait on hold for you and connect when they reach a representative. 4) If your waiting week processed but nothing after, it's usually one of these issues: - Identity verification pending - Employer contest/verification needed - System flag for potential out-of-state IP addresses - Banking information error 5) As a last resort, contact your state assembly member's office. They have special channels to escalate unemployment issues. The key is getting through to an actual person who can look at your specific claim. The NY unemployment system is overwhelmed and many issues require manual intervention. Don't give up - your benefits are owed to you!

•Thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll check my payment history first thing and then try calling tomorrow morning. If that doesn't work I'll look into the claimyr option - at this point I just need this resolved.

•Happy to help! One more tip: when you do get through, ask them to specifically check for "pending flags" or "holds" on your account. Sometimes they won't volunteer this information unless you ask directly. Good luck!

I bet they flagged ur account for something stupid. happened to me and i had to verify my identity AGAIN even tho i already did it during application. the dumb part is they never even told me, just silently stopped my payments after the waiting week. check ur documents section online!

Not trying to scare you but my cousin had this exact problem and it turned out someone had accessed his account and changed the direct deposit info. Call them ASAP and make sure your banking info is still correct!!!

•Oh no, that's terrifying. I just checked and my bank info is still correct in the system, but now I'm worried about potential fraud. Did your cousin get his money back?

•Yes but it took MONTHS and he had to file police reports and everything. Glad your info is still correct! More likely just their system being slow then.

try tweeting at them. sounds stupid but it worked for me lol. i think they hate the public embarrassment so they actually respond. tag the governor too 👀

Are you sure you entered your direct deposit info correctly? Double check your routing and account numbers. I waited 3 weeks for payment only to realize I transposed two digits in my account number 🤦♂️

•Just checked and all my banking info is correct. Frustrating that there's no obvious reason for the delay.

•Ugh that sucks. then it's definitely something on their end. You NEED to talk to someone. The messaging system is where requests go to die.
