New York Unemployment on hold after missing work search meeting - benefits under review for 2 weeks
My benefits got held up because I missed a work search requirement meeting. I rescheduled and went to the new appointment, filled out their questionnaire explaining why I missed it, and completed all the job zone stuff. My claim is still active but under review. Been claiming every week but haven't gotten paid for 2 weeks now. Anyone else deal with this?

Same thing happened to me last month. Took about 3 weeks to get it sorted out. Keep claiming and documenting everything. They'll backpay you once its resolved 👍

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. Used this service called claimyr.com - they dial through the phone menu, wait on hold, then call you when they get an agent. Costs $20 but worth it tbh. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•100% works. Used it twice already. Better than spending hours on hold

Pro tip: Make copies of EVERYTHING you send them. Take screenshots of your job zone activities. Document all your work searches. Trust me on this one 💯

Bruh their system is so messed up. I had to wait 6 weeks once because of a 'review'. Keep claiming tho, you'll get retroactive payment

Contact your state representative's office! They can sometimes speed things up. Worked for me when I was stuck in review hell

•google '[your county] NY state representative' - they usually have unemployment specialists on staff

Here's what you need to do: First, keep claiming every week without fail. Even if you're not getting paid, this ensures you'll get backpay. Second, document everything. Screenshots of your job zone activities, copies of the questionnaire, and any correspondence. Third, try reaching them through multiple channels: - Use claimyr.com to get through on the phone (worth the $20) - Send a secure message through your online account - Contact your state representative - Use their social media channels (sometimes they respond on Twitter) Lastly, make sure you're doing your work searches and logging them properly. They're super strict about this now. I went through this exact situation. Took about 4 weeks but got resolved with all backpay. Don't give up!
