New York Unemployment not paying backpay - need help reaching an agent
I finally got approved for unemployment and they started paying me weekly but they didn't give me any backpay from when I first filed months ago. I've been trying to get through on the phone but can't reach anyone. Anyone know how to actually talk to someone about this backpay issue?

Same thing happened to me! I was owed like 3 months of payments. Had to call literally 50+ times before getting through. The automated system is a complete joke 🤮

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! Used this service called claimyr.com - they dial and wait on hold, then call you when they get an agent. Costs $20 but totally worth it for my backpay situation. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Listen up because this is important. You need to properly document everything to get your backpay: 1. Document your initial filing date 2. Screenshot all your weekly certifications 3. Save any emails from unemployment 4. Write down exactly how much you're owed Then use claimyr.com to get through to an agent. When you talk to them, be super specific about dates and amounts. Don't hang up until you get confirmation they're processing your backpay. If the first agent isn't helpful, try again. Sometimes you gotta be persistent but stay professional. Good luck!
