New York Unemployment SEAP Application Timeline - No Response After 12 Days
Applied for the self employment assistance program through ny unemployment. Been waiting for 12 days with no word back. Starting to get worried they'll deny me. Anyone have experience with SEAP approval times?

Hey guys I had trouble reaching them about my SEAP application but found this site claimyr.com that helped me get through. It costs $20 but they dial and wait on hold, then connect you when someone picks up. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Look, SEAP is actually pretty selective. They want detailed business plans, market analysis, and financial projections. From my experience working with entrepreneurs, here's what helps speed up approval: - Double check ALL paperwork is complete - Include market research data - Have clear financial projections - Show you've researched competitors - Detail your expertise in the field If you need to check status, use claimyr.com to get through to an agent. Way better than waiting on hold forever. Good luck! 💯

Just went through this process last month! The waiting is brutal but totally normal. My timeline was: - Applied on a Monday - Got a confirmation email same day - Radio silence for 18 days (was panicking!) - Finally got approval letter in the mail on day 19 Pro tip: they're super backed up right now because of high demand. If you submitted everything correctly, you should be good. The key things they look for are a solid business plan (doesn't need to be crazy detailed but should show you thought it through) and proof you can actually run the business. Hang tight @Anastasia! 12 days is still within normal range 🤞

•Thank you so much for sharing your timeline! This really helps calm my nerves. Did you end up calling them at all during those 18 days or just waited it out? Also curious what your business plan looked like - was it like a formal document or more casual?

I'm going through the exact same thing right now - applied 10 days ago and haven't heard anything back! Reading through everyone's experiences here is actually really reassuring. Sounds like 2-4 weeks is pretty normal. @Anastasia have you tried checking your mail yet? Some people seem to get responses by mail rather than email. Also thinking about trying that claimyr service a few people mentioned if I don't hear back by day 20. Good luck to both of us! 🤞

•Hey @Sophie! Yes I've been checking my mailbox religiously every day lol. Nothing yet but sounds like most people get mail responses around the 2-3 week mark. Really hoping we both hear back soon! This waiting game is stressing me out but everyone's timelines here are making me feel way better about it. Let me know if you end up trying claimyr - curious to hear if it actually works!

I'm in week 3 of waiting for my SEAP decision and seeing all these timelines is really helpful! Applied with what I thought was a solid business plan but now second-guessing everything 😅 The uncertainty is killing me but sounds like most people are waiting 2-4 weeks which makes me feel better. Has anyone here had experience with what happens if they need additional documentation? Do they reach out or just deny automatically?

•Hey @Carlos! From what I've seen in other forums, they usually reach out if they need more documentation rather than just auto-denying. Most people get a letter or email asking for specific additional info if something's missing. Week 3 is still totally normal based on everyone's experiences here! Try not to stress too much - sounds like you did your homework with the business plan which is the main thing they're looking for 👍

Just wanted to add my experience since I went through this exact same anxiety! Applied for SEAP in October and didn't hear back for 22 days - was convinced they lost my application. Finally got approved via mail with a letter explaining next steps. The waiting is absolutely brutal but from what I learned, they're just severely understaffed right now. As long as you submitted all required docs (business plan, financial projections, etc.) you should be fine. They seem to process applications in batches rather than individually which explains the random timing. @Anastasia - 12 days is still early! Most people I talked to waited 18-25 days. Try to stay positive, the silence doesn't mean bad news 🙏

•Thank you @StarSailor for sharing your October experience! 22 days must have felt like forever but so glad you got approved. This thread is seriously saving my sanity right now - I was spiraling thinking something went wrong with my application. Really appreciate everyone sharing their timelines, it's clear the 2-3 week wait is totally normal even though it feels like an eternity when you're going through it!

I'm in the exact same boat - applied for SEAP 11 days ago and refreshing my email constantly! Reading everyone's experiences here is such a relief. Seems like 2-4 weeks is completely normal even though it feels like forever when you're waiting. @Anastasia we're basically on the same timeline - let's keep each other posted! The fact that so many people here got approved after similar wait times is really encouraging. Trying to stay patient but it's hard when this could change everything for our businesses 🤞 Thanks everyone for sharing your stories - this community is awesome for keeping us sane during the waiting game!

•@Carmella yes we're basically twins with our timing! This thread has been such a lifesaver - I was convinced something was wrong but clearly 2-3 weeks is just the norm. Will definitely keep you posted when I hear back! It's so nice to have someone going through the exact same thing at the same time. Fingers crossed for both of us! 🤞

Hey everyone! Just wanted to jump in here as someone who's been lurking and reading all these experiences. I applied for SEAP about 8 days ago and was starting to panic that I hadn't heard anything yet, but reading through all your timelines is incredibly reassuring! It sounds like 2-3 weeks is totally normal, which helps me relax a bit. I submitted what I thought was a decent business plan but now I'm second-guessing everything like we all seem to do during this waiting period 😅 @Anastasia hope you hear back soon! And thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - this thread is goldmine for people going through this process. The waiting game is brutal but at least we're not alone in it!

•Hey @Clay! Welcome to the waiting game club 😅 8 days is still super early based on everyone's experiences here. I'm at day 12 now and feeling way more chill after reading all these timelines. Sounds like we're all in the same boat with the second-guessing our business plans - I think that's just the anxiety talking! The fact that so many people here got approved after 2-3+ weeks is really encouraging. Hang in there, we got this! 💪

Just wanted to chime in as someone who recently went through this whole process! Applied for SEAP back in November and the wait was absolutely nerve-wracking. Took exactly 21 days to get my approval letter in the mail - no email, just regular postal mail like others mentioned. The thing that helped me the most was realizing that no news really is just no news, not bad news. NY DOL is swamped right now and they're processing these in big batches. As long as you submitted all the required docs (business plan, financial projections, etc.) you're probably fine! @Anastasia at 12 days you're still well within the normal range based on what I've seen. Try not to stress too much - I know it's easier said than done but the waiting is just part of the process unfortunately. Most people I know who got denied heard back much quicker (like within a week), so the longer wait times seem to actually be a good sign! Hang in there everyone! This thread is such a great support system 💪

•Thank you so much @Jabari-Jo for sharing your November experience! 21 days must have felt like forever but it's so encouraging to hear you got approved. I really appreciate your point about longer wait times potentially being a good sign - that actually makes me feel way better about this whole process. It's wild how this thread has turned into such an amazing support group for all of us going through the same anxiety! Really helps knowing we're not alone in this waiting game 🙏

Hey @Anastasia! I totally feel your anxiety right now - I'm currently on day 15 of waiting for my SEAP decision and was literally losing sleep over it until I found this thread. Reading everyone's experiences here has been such a game changer for my mental health! It's crazy how consistent everyone's timelines are - seems like 18-25 days is the sweet spot for most approvals. I keep reminding myself that NY DOL is probably just drowning in applications right now, especially with so many people starting businesses post-pandemic. I submitted what I thought was a solid business plan but like everyone else here, I've been second-guessing every single detail 😅 The waiting is absolutely brutal but this community is keeping me sane. We're all in this together! Really hoping we all hear back with good news soon. Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting! 🤞

•@Giovanni totally feel you on the losing sleep part! I'm on day 13 now and this thread has been a lifesaver for my anxiety too. It's so reassuring to see how consistent everyone's timelines are - makes me realize the silence is just normal processing time, not a bad sign. The 18-25 day range seems to be the magic window based on everyone's experiences here. We're definitely all in this together and it helps so much knowing other people are going through the exact same stress! Hoping we all get our good news soon 🙏

I'm going through the exact same thing! Applied for SEAP 9 days ago and have been checking my email obsessively every hour. This thread is honestly saving my mental health right now - I had no idea 2-3 weeks was the normal timeline. I was convinced they lost my application or something went wrong. It's so reassuring to see all these success stories after similar wait times. I submitted my business plan thinking it was decent but now I'm overthinking every section like everyone else seems to do 😅 The fact that so many people here got approved after 18-25 days gives me hope. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences - knowing we're all going through the same anxiety makes this waiting game so much more bearable! @Anastasia hoping we both hear back with good news soon! 🤞
