New York Unemployment: No text after determination letter - am I denied?
Got told a determination letter was sent out Wednesday. During my previous claim I got a text saying my claim was ready for payment right after approval. Haven't gotten any text message this time. Does this mean I got denied? Really stressed about this.

Not necessarily. The system works differently now than it did during covid. Sometimes it takes a few days for the text to come through, and sometimes you dont get one at all. Wait for the actual letter to arrive before assuming the worst.

•Yeah the texts are super inconsistent now. I never got one but was approved last month

I found a way to actually talk to someone instead of waiting. Used claimyr.com to get through to an agent. Cost $20 but worth it to get answers right away. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•100% legit. They just wait on hold for you and call when an agent picks up. Saved me like 4 hours of hold time

•$20 to skip the hold time? thats actually not bad considering how impossible it is to get through 💯

Took me 2 weeks to get my determination letter and never got a text. Still got approved. The whole system is a mess rn tbh

Look I've been working with ny unemployment for years and here's what you need to know: The notification system is completely unreliable now. Some get texts, some get emails, some get nothing until the letter arrives. Best thing to do is: 1) Check your payment history daily on the website 2) Make sure your address is correct 3) If you really can't wait, use claimyr.com to get an agent on the phone - they'll tell you the determination right away. Just remember determinations can take 2-4 weeks to process normally.
