New York Unemployment: Can't get through on phone to complete claim - calling multiple times daily
Filed my unemployment claim and now they want me to call to finish it up. Been trying to get through for a week straight, calling multiple times every day but keep getting the busy signal or automated message saying to call back later. Starting to get worried about my claim getting delayed. Anyone know how to actually reach someone?

Same here! Going on 2 weeks of trying. The phones are completely jammed up. Tried calling right when they open at 8am and still nothing 😤

I finally got through using claimyr.com - its this service that calls and waits on hold for you, then connects you when they get an agent. Costs $20 but honestly worth every penny after I spent weeks trying to get through. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

PROTIP: The unemployment system is completely overwhelmed rn. Your best bet is to have multiple strategies going at once. Keep calling, try the website during off-peak hours (like 3am), and definitely try using services like claimyr.com to get through. The key is persistence and trying different approaches. Also, document EVERYTHING - dates you called, confirmation numbers, names of reps you talk to. Trust me, youll need this info later. I went through this whole mess last month and finally got it sorted. The phone system is basically impossible to get through normally - I counted over 200 calls before I finally got help. The website can work but its super glitchy during peak hours. One thing that helped me was using claimyr.com to finally get through to someone. Yeah, it costs money but after wasting weeks trying to get through, it was worth it. They basically wait on hold for you and call when they get someone. Hang in there and don't give up - the system is frustrating but you'll get through eventually!
