Need id.me phone number for NY unemployment verification - anyone have it?

My account got flagged for identity verification and I need to contact id.me directly. Tried looking on the NY unemployment website but can't find a direct phone number. The automated system keeps sending me in circles and I've been trying to verify my identity for almost 3 weeks now. My benefits have been on hold since December 15th and I'm getting desperate. Tried emailing them twice but no response yet. Anyone successfully reached id.me by phone? Would really appreciate the number if you have it.

I had the same problem back in October. Their customer support number is 866-775-4363. You'll probably have to wait on hold for like 45 minutes tho. Make sure you have all your documents ready (ID, SS card, etc) when you call. Good luck!

Thank you so much! Did you eventually get your verification issue resolved? How long did it take after you called?

0 coins

Yep, got it resolved but took about 4-5 days after the call for everything to process in their system. Then another week for NY unemployment to actually release my funds 🙄

That number never worked for me! Just endless hold music then disconnected after an hour 😡

After spending DAYS trying to reach someone about my id.me issues I found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to a live agent super quick. Talking to an agent got my benefits flowing again within days! They called for me, waited on hold, then connected me when a live person picked up. Check out this video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Is this for real? Sounds too good to be true... how much did it cost?

100% worked for me! I was skeptical too but was desperate after 3 weeks with no benefits. Honestly it was the best money I've spent all year considering it got thousands in benefits released.

Another day another 'miracle solution' 🤔 Anyone else actually tried this?

I used it last month when my claim was stuck in pending hell. It's legit, got a callback with an actual human within a couple hours. Worth every penny when you're watching your bank account drain to zero.

wait hold up - does this actually work or is it just the usual BS? I've wasted so much time already...

It worked for me! I was literally about to give up on getting my benefits after weeks of trying. The callback came through and the agent fixed my id.me issue right away.

I got thru to id.me using their online chat feature. Go to help.id.me and click the chat bubble in the bottom right. Waited about 20 mins but actually got help! No phone number needed.

The whole id.me verification process is such a nightmare! I had to do a video call with them to prove my identity after the automated system kept rejecting my drivers license. Contact them through their support portal on their website, thats what worked for me.

The video call thing was SO awkward lol. The guy made me take off my glasses and turn my head different directions like I was in some spy movie 🕵️‍♀️

Omg SAME! And my internet kept cutting out so I had to do it THREE TIMES. I was ready to throw my laptop out the window by the end of it.

Just a heads up - make sure youre actually going through the official id.me site linked from the NY unemployment portal. There are scam sites out there trying to steal peoples info. The legit site is secure.id.me

Thanks for the warning! I've been using the link directly from the NYSDOL site so hopefully that's the right one.

For anyone dealing with id.me issues with NY unemployment, here's what I've learned after going through this nightmare twice: First, the id.me support number is 866-775-4363, but it's often overwhelmed. Better options: 1. Use their help center chat at help.id.me - usually 15-30 min wait but they can actually help 2. If your verification gets stuck, request a video call verification through their portal. Yes it's annoying but it works 3. After id.me verifies you, NYSDOL still needs to process it on their end which can take 1-2 weeks (ridiculous) 4. If you're still waiting after verification, use claimyr.com to get a callback from an actual NYSDOL agent who can push your claim through 5. Document EVERYTHING - screenshots, confirmation emails, reference numbers The system is broken but you'll get through it eventually. Took me almost a month but finally got all my back payments.

This is super helpful info, thanks for sharing! 🙌

Id.me is the WORST. They've had data breaches and their customer service is terrible. Unfortunately we're stuck with them since NY unemployment requires it 🤮

0 coins

Wait what?? They had data breaches?? Now I'm worried about giving them my info but I have no choice if I want my benefits...

0 coins

Yeah there was a big one last year. Just make sure you have unique passwords and 2fa on everything. The system is garbage but we're forced to use it.

This is why I used a separate email address just for unemployment stuff. Don't trust any of these systems with my main accounts.

anybody else notice how the NY unemployment system always has these 'verification issues' right when people are most desperate for their money? seems suspicious to me...

I finally got my id.me verification done and its been 3 weeks and my claim is STILL pending. Called NY unemployment and they said 'just keep waiting'. I CANT KEEP WAITING IM ABOUT TO BE EVICTED

Look into emergency rental assistance asap! NYC has programs that can help while you wait for unemployment to come through.

Seriously try claimyr.com - talking to an actual agent is the only way to get these issues fixed fast. Made all the difference for me when I was in your situation.

FYI - after you complete id.me verification, you need to go back to your ny.gov account and click "verify with id.me" again to link the accounts properly. Took me forever to figure that out!!

Wait really?? I didn't know this! Maybe that's why mine is still pending. I'll try that now, thank you!

Yep! The instructions are terrible. Let me know if that works for you!

Just went through this same nightmare last month! The phone number 866-775-4363 that others mentioned does work, but here's a pro tip - call right when they open at 8am EST. I got through in about 10 minutes vs the usual hour+ wait times later in the day. Also make sure you have your reference number from when you first started the verification process - they'll ask for it immediately. The whole thing is such a mess but once you get a real person they can usually sort it out pretty quickly. Hang in there, you'll get through this! 🤞

This is really helpful advice about calling at 8am! I've been calling in the afternoons and getting nowhere. Quick question - did you have to do the video verification call too, or were they able to fix everything over the phone? I'm dreading having to do another video call since my first one got disconnected halfway through 😩
