NYSDOL UI: No benefits for 2 months after filing waiting week - How to get through?

I filed my waiting week in December and followed up with weekly claims, but I haven't received my benefits for the past two months. I'm missing two payments now and I don't know what to do. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to get through to someone at the unemployment office?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been in the same boat for weeks now. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? It's like trying to win the lottery, I swear.

Yeah, I've tried calling but I can never get through. It's so frustrating. I don't know what else to do at this point.

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 45 minutes on hold last week. Good luck!

Also, try using different phone lines or even a landline if you have one. Sometimes it helps to use a less congested network.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through. Worth a shot!

I hadn't thought of that. How do I find out who my local rep is?

Just google "[your city] state representative". They usually have a contact form on their website. Good luck!

Representatives can sometimes cut through red tape, so it's a good avenue to explore.

Bruh, the unemployment office is a joke. I've been waiting 3 months for my appeal to go through. The whole system needs an overhaul 🀑

It's a tough system to navigate, and unfortunately, many are in the same situation as you.

Anyone else notice how they always seem to "lose" our paperwork? I swear it's on purpose to make us give up. Stay strong OP!

It's not uncommon for documents to get misplaced. Always keep copies of everything you submit.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes there's additional info they need that they don't tell you about. Worth a shot!

That's a great point. Sometimes the system flags something for verification and won't send a notification.

If you're having trouble getting through to the unemployment office, consider using a service like Claimyr that can help connect you with a live agent. While it does cost $20, many users have found it saves them time and stress. However, if cost is a concern, try calling as soon as the office opens or explore other options like emailing or reaching out to your local representative. Having a plan when you do get someone on the line is crucial: confirm your identity, clearly state your issue, ask for an explanation, and request immediate assistance. Always write down the details of your call and get a direct contact for follow-up. Sometimes traditional methods like faxing can work, so don't rule them out. Remember, you're not alone, and many have faced similar challenges with the system.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents? I know it sounds ancient, but I heard from a friend that it sometimes gets faster results.

It seems old school, but sometimes the tried and true methods work best. Worth a try if you're stuck.

Guys, I think I figured it out. You gotta sacrifice a goat under a full moon while chanting the state unemployment code. Works every time 60% of the time πŸ˜‚

Plot twist: there are no actual humans working at the unemployment office. It's all an elaborate AI experiment gone wrong. Wake up sheeple! πŸ‘οΈπŸ‘„πŸ‘οΈ

A good laugh is needed, but wouldn't that explain the lack of responses?

Emailing can be a slower process, but it's always worth sending one to create a paper trail for your interactions.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take for them to get through? I'm desperate but $20 is a lot rn

Claimyr can be a useful service, especially if you're having no luck with other methods. However, it’s always good to weigh the cost against your current financial situation.

Here's what you need to do when you finally get through to someone: 1. Confirm your identity and claim details 2. Clearly state the issue with your missed payments 3. Ask for a specific explanation about why the payments weren't processed 4. Request immediate assistance and ask what can be done while you're on the call 5. Before hanging up, confirm the next steps and get a direct contact for follow-up Stay calm and focused. Write everything down. Don't let them rush you off the phone until you have answers and a plan. Good luck!
