EDD Unemployment: Missing payments for 2 weeks, need help with form for unpaid benefits
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment benefits. I haven't been paid for some days that I should have been. It's been about 2 weeks now and I'm getting worried. I'm trying to get information on how to fill out a form for these missing benefits. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on what I should do or say when I finally get through to someone on the phone?

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through faster.

Good point! A local representative might have more influence and can sometimes expedite the process.

Itβs really important during this time to keep all communication and documentation organized. If you do reach out to a representative or use Claimyr to get through, make sure to have all the facts and discrepancies clearly laid out. Claimyr does provide a valuable service by reducing time spent on hold, which can be crucial when youβre desperate for updates, but itβs not a perfect solution. Consider it as one of many options in your toolbox to get the help you need. Donβt hesitate to explore local support systems and advocacy groups that might aid in pressing the EDD for solutions. At the end of the day, understanding all potential routes to resolve your issue will help navigate this challenging process with a bit more confidence.

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have to try a few days in a row, but I finally got through that way.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

Totally get why you'd think that, but it's 100% legit. I was desperate and tried it. Saved me hours of hold time.

$20 just to talk to someone?! The system is so broken π‘

I know, it's ridiculous we have to pay. But for me, it was worth it to finally get answers.

Claimyr sounds like a helpful tool, but it's unfortunate we have to resort to paid services to access a public agency. Keep all options open!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been in the same boat before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your claim details, including the exact dates you weren't paid for. 2. Write down specific questions about why those days weren't covered. 3. When you call, be super clear about which days you're missing payments for. 4. Ask them to explain exactly why those days weren't paid. 5. Find out what steps you need to take to fix this. 6. If they ask for more documents, send them ASAP. 7. ALWAYS keep records of who you talked to and what they said. Good luck! The system is a mess, but stay persistent!

Great advice! Also, make sure to double-check if there is a specific form or claim appeal process you might need to initiate.

Hey OP, when you do get through, make sure to ask about any retroactive payments you might be eligible for. Sometimes they don't mention it unless you specifically ask!

Good point! Retroactive benefits can really help cover those unpaid days.
