NYS Department of Labor claim showing 'pending resolution' - what does this mean?
My unemployment claim has been showing 'pending resolution' for about two weeks now and I have no idea what this means. I filed my initial claim three weeks ago and was able to file my weekly claims, but no payments have come through. The my.ny.gov portal just shows this status with no explanation. I've tried calling the NYS Department of Labor but can't get through to anyone. Is this the same as adjudication? Should I be worried that something is wrong with my claim? I really need to know if I should expect payment soon or if there's some issue I need to fix.

Pending resolution typically means your claim is under review by NYS Department of Labor for some reason. It could be verification of your work history, separation reason, or eligibility requirements. It's similar to adjudication but not exactly the same - adjudication is more formal. Keep filing your weekly claims while you wait, and check if there are any pending issues in your online account that need your response.

•Thanks! I checked and there's nothing showing that needs my action. How long does this usually take? I'm starting to stress about my bills.

If you're having trouble reaching NYS Department of Labor by phone, I had success using Claimyr (claimyr.com) when my claim was stuck in review. They help you get through to an actual agent instead of waiting on hold forever. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. I was able to find out exactly why my claim was pending and what I needed to do to resolve it.

•Never heard of this service before. Did they charge you a lot to help get through?

•It was worth it to finally talk to someone who could explain what was happening with my claim. Much better than calling dozens of times and getting hung up on.

I HATE this pending resolution nonsense! They never explain what they're actually looking at or how long it will take. The whole NYS Department of Labor system is designed to frustrate people into giving up on their claims. Been dealing with this bureaucratic nightmare for months.

•I understand the frustration but getting angry won't help. The system is overwhelmed but most claims do get resolved eventually. Just have to be patient unfortunately.

Pending resolution could mean they're verifying your employment history with your last employer. Sometimes employers don't respond quickly to requests for information, which can delay the process. Make sure you have all your documentation ready in case they ask for additional proof of your work history or separation reason.

•That makes sense. My last employer was pretty disorganized so they probably took forever to respond to NYS Department of Labor.
