Finally got my NY unemployment backpay after 4 months of waiting!

They said something about a system flag for identity verification that never got cleared after I submitted my docs. Apparently my case was just sitting in limbo and nobody was reviewing it 🙄

Sounds about right... their system is a disaster. I've sent my ID verification twice now and still nothing. Did you have to call multiple times?

omg yes. probably called like 30+ times. half the time i got disconnected, other times the rep would say they'd escalate it but nothing would happen

nah, it's actually legit. I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for 3 weeks to get through. They just call for you and connect you directly with an agent. Best decision I made - my $6k in backpay came through 2 days after I finally talked to someone

yeah it works. they basically do the holding for you and then call when they get a real person. saved me like 4 hours of listening to that stupid hold music lol

you don't pay if they don't connect you with someone. plus it's just a calling service - they're not filling anything out for you or anything sketchy. just saving you from the hold time nightmare

Good point! I actually did elect to have taxes taken out when I first applied. Looks like they took about $780 out already.

Not OP but try claimyr.com - they'll call for you and get you connected to a real person. Worked for me after weeks of trying.

I tried the state rep route and they actually helped! They have special contacts at unemployment apparently

yep! it was all there. base amount plus the extra for each week

I was super specific and had all my info ready - claim ID, dates of submissions, etc. Asked them to check for specific flags or holds on my account. Also asked them to confirm exactly what they were doing to resolve it and when I could expect results.

After nothing worked for months, I finally got through to a specialist who actually knew what they were doing. Used claimyr.com to get connected after trying the regular phone number for weeks.

Literally just appeared. I got a message in my online account inbox about 3 hours AFTER the deposit hit lol. Their system is so backwards.

Honestly the turning point was when I finally got through to a tier 2 agent who actually took the time to look at my file. Regular agents kept giving me generic responses. Had to specifically ask to be transferred to a claims specialist.

How'd you get to a tier 2? I can barely reach any human at all

use claimyr.com - they'll get you through to someone and then you can ask for a tier 2 specialist. that's what worked for me
