Can't upload driver's license to id.me for NY unemployment verification - any recent fixes?
Hey everyone, I'm having a real headache trying to upload my driver's license to id.me for verification. It's just not working at all. I remember people had this problem before, but I'm wondering if anyone's dealt with this recently? My buddy managed to get his through on a desktop computer, but I don't have that option. This whole process is eating up so much of my time. Anyone else struggling with this or found a way around it?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I had the same issue last week. Tried everything - different browsers, clearing cache, even borrowed my sister's phone. Nothing worked. It's like the system is designed to make us give up š¤¦āāļø

Same here! It's so frustrating. I swear the ny unemployment system is held together with duct tape and prayers š

I actually found a method to get someone on the phone about this. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Wow, that sounds interesting. How long did you have to wait before you got connected to someone?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. I got connected in about 45 minutes, which beats spending all day trying to get through.

$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so broken if we have to pay extra just to get basic service š”

I get it, but for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, you know? And it beats losing your mind on hold music lol

Pro tip: try uploading late at night or early morning. The system seems less buggy when there's less traffic. Worked for me around 2 AM š¦

This might sound weird, but have you tried taking the picture of your license in different lighting? I had to play around with it a bit before it would accept mine. Also, make sure the edges are clear and there's no glare. It's picky af š

Alright, listen up folks. I've been through this rodeo before and I've got some tips that might help. Here's what you need to do: ā¢ First, make sure your license isn't expired. Sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised. ā¢ Clean your camera lens. Any smudges can mess up the image quality. ā¢ Use a plain, dark background when taking the photo. ā¢ Make sure all four corners of the license are visible. ā¢ Try different devices if possible - sometimes it's just finicky with certain phones. ā¢ If all else fails, you can request a manual review on the id.me site. If you're still striking out after all that, I'd recommend using claimyr.com to get through to a real person. It costs a bit, but it's way better than banging your head against the wall for days. Hang in there, y'all. I know it's frustrating, but you'll get through it eventually!

Quick question - how long does the manual review usually take? I'm getting desperate here š°

Manual review can take anywhere from 3-5 business days in my experience. But hey, it's better than being stuck in limbo forever, right?

I swear, dealing with ny unemployment is like trying to teach a cat to swim. Possible, but painful for everyone involved š¹

Has anyone else noticed that the website seems to work better with certain browsers? I had no luck with Chrome, but it went through first try with Firefox. Might be worth a shot if you're still stuck.
