Can I file for New York Unemployment if I quit my job?
Need advice about filing for unemployment. I left my job because the working conditions were terrible. My boss kept changing my schedule last minute and I couldn't deal with the stress anymore. Can I still apply for benefits or do you have to be fired to qualify?

It depends on if you had good cause to quit. Document everything - the schedule changes, any emails or texts from your boss, and how it affected your health. You might qualify if you can prove constructive discharge.

Hey, I was in the same situation last month. I found this service called claimyr.com that helped me get through to unemployment to explain my case. They charge $20 but they handle the whole calling and waiting on hold process then connect you to an agent. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Bruh ur gonna have a hard time. They usually deny claims if u quit voluntarily. Should have let them fire u tbh 🤡

You need to prove 'good cause' for quitting. NY unemployment considers these valid reasons: - Unsafe working conditions - Significant change in work duties without notice - Medical reasons with documentation - Discrimination or harassment - Substantial schedule changes affecting childcare Make sure you have documentation for everything. Take screenshots of texts, save emails, write down dates/times of incidents. When you file, be very specific about why you had to quit. I recommend using claimyr.com to get through to an agent to explain your situation. It's worth the $20 to actually talk to someone instead of waiting forever. Good luck! The system is tough but not impossible if you have proof.
