If your having trouble with online filing, try going to your local unemployment office in person. Sometimes face-to-face interaction can solve problems quicker.

Multiple UI claim numbers - Billing confusion with NYS DOL unemployment

Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my unemployment claim. I filed my first claim and got a receipt number, but then I had to file another claim and got a different order number. Now I'm confused about what's going on with my billing. Has anyone else dealt with multiple claims or orders? I'm worried about being charged twice or having issues with my benefits. Any advice would be appreciated!

NYDOL denied my claim bc I only worked 4 months - any way to appeal?

I'm so frustrated with the unemployment system. I worked for 4 months and made good money in the last quarter ($8000), but my claim was denied because I didn't make enough in the other quarters. It's ridiculous that they expect you to work a full year to qualify. I was actively looking for work and available, but faced ageism in my job search. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to appeal or if there are special programs for older workers?

Not sure if this helps, but I've heard some success stories of people reaching out to their state senators or representatives for help with unemployment issues. Might be worth a shot?

Protip: call exactly at 7:59 AM when they open. You might get lucky and get through before the queue fills up. Worked for me last month!

I only worked one quarter last year with a decent salary, but the other three quarters were really low because it was tough finding work due to my age. Now my claim is showing $0 benefits.
