Sometimes deleting your browser cookies and trying in a different browser can fix weird system errors. Might be worth a try?
I actually tried that already - Chrome, Firefox, and even Explorer. Same issue on all of them unfortunately. But good suggestion!
UPDATE: I finally got this resolved! Used Claimyr (thanks for that recommendation!) and got through to an agent in about 20 minutes. The agent could see all my failed attempts and said there was a system flag on my account that was preventing the update. She manually removed the flag and processed my direct deposit change while I was on the phone. She said the new info should be active for my next payment. Such a relief!
That's great news! And good to know about the system flag - that seems to be happening to quite a few people lately. Glad you got it resolved before your old account closed.
of COURSE there was a "system flag" - they probably purposely flag accounts just to make our lives difficult! But glad you got it fixed!
So happy for you! I remember checking my account obsessively when I was waiting for mine. It's like winning the lottery when it finally hits lol. Make sure you set aside some for taxes though - I got burned last year because I didn't realize they don't automatically withhold taxes on back pay!
IM SCREAMING!!!! my backpay just hit too!!!! maybe they just did a big batch of them?!??! $8290 omgggg i cant believe it!!! dont give up hope ppl!!!
Congrats!! That's amazing timing! They must be clearing a backlog right now.
anyone know what happens if you miss certifying for ONE day during this daily requirement thing? do you lose that day's benefits forever or can you make it up somehow?
If you miss a daily certification, you don't permanently lose that day's benefits. You can request retroactive certification for the missed day by selecting the "Claim Weekly Benefits" option and then choosing the option to certify for a previous unclaimed day. This must be done within 7 days of the missed certification. Beyond that timeframe, you'd need to call NYSDOL directly to request the retroactive payment.
Update: You all were right! I just checked today and my certification is back to weekly now. It lasted exactly 3 weeks of daily certification. Looks like it was just temporary verification like many of you mentioned. Thanks everyone for your help!
Great to hear! This is the typical timeline for most verification periods. Glad it resolved itself without you needing to call.
UPDATE: If you're still having this issue, NYSDOL just announced a fix for the ID verification system yesterday. Log into your account, go to "My Documents" and look for the new "Verification Status" tab. If it shows "Pending Review" then your documents have been received and you should stop uploading new ones. If it shows "Rejected" then click on the document name for specific reasons why it was rejected.
Thank you SO MUCH for this update! I just checked and mine says "Pending Review" - such a relief to know they have my documents. I wish they would have told us about this status page in their emails instead of just asking for the same documents over and over. Really appreciate you sharing this info!
Has anyone actually gotten through to a human being at the ID verification number (888-209-8124)? I've called like 30 times over the past week and either get disconnected or stuck in the same loop of automated messages. I'm starting to think the verification team doesn't actually exist!!!

Here's the official update from NYSDOL about this issue: 1. The payment processing system experienced a technical failure during the batch processing of payments for week ending 8/8/2025 2. Approximately 86,000 claimants were affected 3. All affected payments are being reprocessed automatically 4. The reprocessing began on 8/15 and will continue through 8/19 5. Claimants do NOT need to recertify or take any action 6. The system is now fixed and all current/future payments should process normally If you don't see your payment by 8/20, then you should contact them directly. Their system shows which accounts were affected by the glitch, so they can verify and expedite if needed.

•Thank you for this information! Where did you find these details? I've been checking the website daily but haven't seen any announcements about the issue.

•It's on their Twitter account (@NYSLabor) and also if you log in to your account and look at the Messages section, there should be a system notification about it. They don't always put these announcements on the main website unfortunately.

•Just checked and mine came through too! What a relief. Thanks everyone for confirming it was a system issue and not something wrong with my individual claim.
