ugh the whole system is so stressful when you're already dealing with job loss. hoping it works out for you!
Just want to add - even if you do get fired and they contest your unemployment, you can appeal their decision if NYS Department of Labor initially denies you. I've seen people win appeals even when the initial decision went against them. The appeals process gives you a chance to present your side more thoroughly.
If you're having trouble getting your 1099-G or accessing your my.ny.gov account, I had success using claimyr.com to get through to an actual NYS Department of Labor representative. They have a callback service that actually works - you can see how it works in their demo video at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI. The agent was able to help me get my tax documents resent and answered questions about the withholding options for my ongoing claim.
If you're having trouble getting through to NYS Department of Labor to ask questions about your claim, I had good luck with claimyr.com - they help you actually reach an agent by phone. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Way better than sitting on hold for hours.

One thing they don't tell you upfront - you'll need to do job search activities and report them when you file your weekly claims. NYS Department of Labor requires proof that you're actively looking for work. Keep a log of applications, interviews, networking events, etc.

The whole unemployment system is ridiculous anyway. They make it so complicated that people don't even know they qualify for help when their employer screws them over with hour cuts. Of course you can get partial unemployment - employers would abuse workers even more if that wasn't an option!

Same thing happened to me but with my warehouse job. Filed for partial and it helped cover some bills while I looked for something full-time. Just make sure you keep track of all your hours and wages when you file your weekly claims.
