If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I had such a hard time reaching someone at NYS Department of Labor when I got my 602a notice. Kept getting busy signals and automated hangups. Finally used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helped me get through to an actual agent who explained exactly what they needed. There's a demo video at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Made the whole process way less stressful.

That sounds helpful! I've been dreading trying to call them. How quickly were you able to get through?

ugh another bureaucratic form to stress about... the unemployment system loves their paperwork don't they

Whatever you do, don't trust those scam websites that promise to file for you for hundreds of dollars upfront. Stick with legitimate options like the career centers or official NYS Department of Labor resources.

same thing happened to me last year except i waited 2 weeks before filing because i thought maybe my job would call me back. BIG mistake - you lose those first 2 weeks of benefits forever. file as soon as possible even if you think you might get your job back

0 coins

Oh wow, I didn't realize that! I'll definitely file this week then. Thanks for the warning.

same boat here, lost my job last month and still figuring this out

One thing to watch out for - if there are any issues with your claim it can go into adjudication which means delays while they investigate. This can happen if your employer contests the claim or if there are questions about why you left your job. During adjudication you won't get paid until it's resolved, which can take weeks or even months sometimes.

Oh no, that sounds scary. What kind of things would make them investigate?

0 coins

Things like being fired for misconduct, quitting without good cause, or if your employer says you were actually laid off for different reasons than what you claimed. Just be honest on your application about why you left your job.

Trump era unemployment rates were historically low until COVID hit. In NY specifically, unemployment was around 3.8% in 2019. But that doesn't really affect your individual benefit calculation - that's still based on your earnings history with NYS Department of Labor wage records.

yeah but low unemployment meant more jobs available so the pressure to find work was higher. now there's more understanding if you're having trouble finding something

The adjudication process was slower back then I think? My claim got stuck for 6 weeks in 2018 and nobody could tell me why. At least now the NYS Department of Labor gives you better status updates online about what's happening with your claim.

I had trouble reaching NYS Department of Labor when I was dealing with a similar situation last year. Kept getting disconnected during the long wait times. Someone here recommended using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an actual agent. They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI. Made it so much easier to talk to someone about whether my situation would qualify as good cause before I made any decisions.

Thanks for the suggestion! I definitely want to talk to someone at NYS Department of Labor before I do anything. The phone system is so frustrating.

0 coins

honestly the whole system is rigged against workers anyway, might as well just quit if you're miserable and worry about money later, life's too short

0 coins

I understand the frustration, but that's not practical advice for someone trying to make an informed decision about their financial security.
