DETR Nevada: Funds missing after appeal win, stuck between old and new Way 2 Go Card. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a real pickle with my unemployment benefits. I won my appeal but the funds aren't showing up on my Way 2 Go Card. The system says they were deposited on March 13th, but my balance is still zero. I think the money might be stuck on my old card since they sent me a new one on March 19th. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm at my wit's end trying to get through to someone at DETR to transfer the funds. This whole process has been a complete nightmare!

Ugh, I feel your pain! π« The DETR system is such a mess. Have you tried calling them early in the morning? I heard that's the best time to get through.

β’Yeah, I've tried calling at all hours. No luck so far. It's like they don't want us to reach them!

β’Pro tip: call exactly at 8:00:01 AM. That's how I finally got through after weeks of trying!

β’8:00:01? Lol, I'll set my alarm for 7:59 and have my finger hovering over the call button π

I had a similar issue with funds not showing up. Turns out there was a glitch in their system. Keep calling and don't give up! Eventually, you'll get someone who can help.

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? They sometimes have direct lines to DETR and can help push things along.

β’That's a great idea! I hadn't thought of that. I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

Hey guys, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/joPqgg0bRFw

β’Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

β’I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through to a real person. Worth every penny imho.

β’How long did you have to wait once you used the service?

β’It took about 2 hours total, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than wasting entire days trying to get through!

Listen up, folks. I've been dealing with DETR for over a year now, and I've learned a few tricks. Here's what you need to do: β’ First, document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every penny owed. β’ Use the online portal to file appeals and upload documents whenever possible. β’ If you can't get through on the phone, try emailing them. Sometimes they actually respond. β’ Join Facebook groups for Nevada unemployment issues. There's strength in numbers, and you might get insider tips. β’ Consider contacting the media if your case is particularly egregious. Bad press can light a fire under them. β’ As a last resort, look into legal aid. There are lawyers who specialize in unemployment cases. Remember, persistence is key. Don't let them wear you down. You're entitled to your benefits, so keep fighting!

Have u checked if ur bank info is correct in the system? Sometimes they send it to the wrong account and it takes forever to fix π

Max Knight
β’Yeah, I double-checked all that. The issue seems to be with the new card they sent, not the bank info. But thanks for the suggestion!

OP, I hate to say this, but you might be in for a long haul. I've been waiting 6 months for them to sort out a similar issue. The system is completely broken. π€‘

β’6 months?! That's insane! How are people supposed to survive while waiting that long?

β’Ikr? It's a total clown show. I've had to borrow money from family just to keep afloat. The stress is unreal.

Hey, quick question - when you log into your account online, does it show the payment as being processed? That might give you a clue about where the money is stuck.

Max Knight
β’Good question! It shows as processed, which is why I'm so confused about where the money actually is. It's like it's floating in limbo somewhere between DETR and my card.

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just camp outside the DETR office until they sort this mess out. Who's with me? βΊοΈβ

β’Lmao, imagine the look on their faces when they show up to work and see us all there π

This exact same thing happened to me last month! The funds were "deposited" but stuck on my old card that had already been deactivated. What finally worked was calling the Way2Go customer service line directly (not DETR) and explaining the situation. They were able to see both cards in their system and manually transfer the funds to my new card. The number is on the back of your new card. It took about 3 business days to show up after they processed it. Hope this helps!

β’OMG thank you so much for this!! π I never even thought to call Way2Go directly instead of DETR. You might have just saved me weeks of frustration. I'm calling them first thing tomorrow morning. Really appreciate you sharing what actually worked for you!

β’This is exactly the kind of helpful info we need more of! @Miguel Ramos you re'a lifesaver for sharing the actual solution that worked. I m'dealing with a similar card transfer issue and definitely calling Way2Go directly instead of banging my head against the DETR wall. Thanks for taking the time to help others avoid the same nightmare!

β’Wait, this is brilliant! I've been calling DETR for weeks getting nowhere, but I never thought to bypass them and go straight to Way2Go. Makes total sense since they're the ones actually managing the cards. @Miguel Ramos did they ask for any specific info when you called, or was it pretty straightforward once you explained the situation?

β’This is amazing! I can't believe I've been spinning my wheels with DETR when the solution was right there with Way2Go customer service. @Miguel Ramos you just gave me hope that I can actually get this resolved quickly. Did you need to have both card numbers when you called them, or just the new one? I want to make sure I have everything ready before I call.
