TA renewal sent weeks ago to local office - no response. Anyone else experiencing delays?

Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my Temporary Assistance renewal. I sent it in to the local office a few weeks ago, but I haven't heard anything back yet. Has anyone else experienced delays with their renewals recently? I'm getting a bit worried since my benefits might run out soon if this doesn't get processed.

Ugh, I feel ya. The system is so slow these days. I sent in my renewal like 2 months ago and still crickets. Its like they dont even care about us 😤

2 months?! That's insane. Have you tried calling them? Maybe there's an issue with your application.

Lol good luck getting through on the phone. I've tried like 50 times, always busy or on hold forever 🙄

Same boat here. It's like they're purposely making it hard for us to get help. So frustrating!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work? Is it legit?

Yeah, it's legit! You just put in your phone number and they call you when they get an agent. Saved me hours of hold time.

$20 tho? That's steep when you're already struggling with benefits 😬

I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally get answers. Beats losing benefits cuz you can't reach anyone 🤷‍♂️

Pro tip: If you can, go to the office in person. I know it's a pain, but I got my renewal sorted out in one visit after weeks of no response.

Has anyone else noticed that the renewal process seems to be taking longer than usual lately? I wonder if they're short-staffed or something.

I heard they implemented a new computer system and it's causing all kinds of delays. Classic government efficiency 🙄

Yeah, my caseworker mentioned something about that. Apparently, they're still ironing out the kinks. Hang in there, everyone!

Here's what I've learned about the Temporary Assistance renewal process after dealing with it for years: • Always keep copies of everything you submit • Send your renewal in at least 30 days before it's due • Follow up weekly if you don't hear back • Use certified mail so you have proof of when they received it • Keep a log of all your calls and who you spoke to • If possible, submit online and in-person for redundancy It's a broken system, but these steps have helped me avoid gaps in my benefits. Hope this helps someone!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start keeping better records. Do you know if there's a way to check the status online?

Unfortunately, their online system is pretty limited. You can sometimes see if it's 'in process' but it's not very helpful. Best bet is still calling or visiting in person.

This is gold 💯 Saving this for future reference!

yall ever think about how we gotta jump through all these hoops just to get basic help? system's rigged man 😔

Preach! 🙌 It's like they make it hard on purpose to discourage people from getting the help they need.

Let's not get all conspiracy theory here. The system's not perfect but at least help is available.

@profile15 found the government plant lol 👀

Quick question - does anyone know if there's a grace period for benefits while your renewal is being processed? I'm worried about a gap in coverage.

I think there is, but you have to request it. Call and ask about 'continuing benefits' while under review.

Thanks! I'll give that a shot. Fingers crossed 🤞
