Where's my 2/12 filers at? Transcript shows N/A with no return filed!

Checking in with my fellow Feb 12th filers! 🧐 • Filed electronically on 2/12/24 • Top 2 boxes on transcript ALL say N/A • No bad codes showing anywhere • Just says "no return filed" • Already checked my IRS account - NOT asking me to verify identity • Military spouse here waiting on our refund to cover moving expenses Anyone else stuck in this weird limbo? Is the IRS just behind? This is our 3rd PCS in 2 years and we NEED this refund. Anyone actually get movement after being stuck like this?? Update: Checked WMR again this morning - still on first bar. 😡

It seems like you might be experiencing a somewhat common processing delay. The IRS is possibly, though not definitely, behind on processing certain batches of returns filed in mid-February. This doesn't necessarily indicate any problems with your return, and it's generally not something to worry about yet. Many returns are showing similar patterns this year, especially for military families with multiple state filings. You might want to give it perhaps another week or so before taking additional steps, as the system could update at any time.

I'm in the same boat as you! Filed 2/12 and transcript still shows N/A. Have you checked if you claimed any credits like EIC or CTC? Those tend to delay processing in my experience. Did you file through a tax preparer or self-prepare? Sometimes that makes a difference with how quickly they process.

Does filing method really impact processing time? I've never heard that before.

This processing delay is like being stuck in traffic with no explanation - you know you'll eventually get there but have no idea when. Last year my transcript was blank like this for almost 4 weeks, then suddenly everything appeared at once and my refund was deposited 3 days later.

So relieved to find this thread! I was starting to think something was wrong with my return specifically. Filed 2/13 and seeing the exact same transcript status with N/A in all the cycle fields and no processing date.

Back in 2022, I had this exact situation. My transcript showed N/A for weeks after filing on February 10th. Called the IRS after waiting 6 weeks and they confirmed my return was in the system despite the transcript showing nothing. Got my refund about 10 days after that call.

Same issue here. Filed 2/12. Nothing showing. N/A everywhere. Called IRS. They confirmed receipt. Said be patient. System backlog exists. No estimated timeframe given. Very frustrating. Checking daily doesn't help. System updates weekly anyway.

This is normal for early-to-mid February filers, especially this year. The IRS processing centers are handling returns in batches, and some batches move through faster than others. The N/A status just means your return hasn't been fully integrated into the transcript system yet, not that there's a problem. In comparison to last year, I'm seeing similar patterns but with slightly longer delays for certain filing windows.

Did they mention anything about verification holds? I filed 2/14 and I'm worried my return might need identity verification even though my account doesn't say that.

When you called, did they give any indication of which processing center is handling your return? Could regional processing centers be causing these delays? I've heard the Kansas City center is particularly backed up this year.

Same boat! Filed on February 12th, and as of March 29th still nothing! After trying the IRS number for THREE DAYS straight (starting March 15th), I finally used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) and got through to an agent in 22 minutes yesterday. The agent confirmed my return was received but is still in the initial processing queue. Apparently there's a huge backlog of February filers. If you're desperate for answers like I was, Claimyr saved me days of redial hell.

Def be careful w/ the N/A status. Last yr my transcript showed N/A for 6 wks then suddenly got a letter saying I needed to verify ID. The annoying part? Nothing on my acct indicated this until the letter came. By then I'd already lost 6 wks of processing time. Might wanna check ur IRS acct every few days just to be safe. Sometimes the system is slow to update the online verification notices.

I experienced the exact same transcript anomaly with my February 11th filing. After 32 days of N/A status, my transcript suddenly populated with a TC150 (return filed) code and a TC570 (additional account action pending) followed by a TC971 (notice issued). Three days later, the TC571 (resolved additional account action) appeared, and my refund was direct deposited within 5 business days. The system appears to be processing in sequential batches this year.

Military family here too - this happens to us almost every year! Last year we filed on February 15th and our transcript showed N/A until March 22nd. Then suddenly everything updated at once and we got our refund on March 29th. The IRS has special processing procedures for military returns with multiple state filings, and they often get grouped into specific processing batches. I wouldn't worry until you hit the 60-day mark - that's when you should start making calls. The good news is that when it finally updates, it usually processes quickly after that.
