Anyone who filed on 2/13 seen any movement yet?

Filed my taxes on 2/13 and still nothing. Last year I filed around the same time and had my refund by March 1st. This is getting ridiculous. Anyone else who filed on 2/13 seeing any movement? Transcript still says N/A and WMR just shows one bar. Getting tired of checking every day.

I filed 2/13 too and NOTHING. Still stuck on one bar in WMR. Called the IRS yesterday and waited 2 hours just to be told it's "still processing" and could take up to 8 weeks! They won't even tell me if there's an issue or not. My bills are due next week and I NEED this money now. This is worse than last year.

Did you claim any credits this year that you didn't claim last year? EITC or Child Tax Credit? Those can delay processing significantly. Also, have you checked your transcript for any codes or just the WMR tool?

This is such a helpful question! I'm in the same boat (filed 2/12) and didn't even think to compare what credits I claimed this year vs last year. Just checked and I DID add a child tax credit this year that I didn't have before. That explains so much! Thank you!!!

Really appreciate you pointing out the transcript codes. I've been obsessively checking WMR but hadn't thought to look at my transcript until reading this. Found a 570 code that at least gives me something to research on irs.gov!

I filed exactly on 2/13 at 9:32am. My transcript shows a 570 code dated 3/11/2024 and a 971 code dated 3/18/2024. According to the IRS processing schedule, returns with certain credits filed between February 1-15 have an estimated deposit date range of March 15-29. We're still within that window, but I'm concerned about these hold codes appearing on my transcript. The processing timeframe is 21 business days which would be April 3rd for our filing date.

I was in the same boat last year (filed 2/14) and after 6 weeks of nothing I tried Claimyr to actually reach a human at the IRS (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c). Got through in like 30 mins instead of the usual 3-hour wait time, lol. Found out they needed to verify my identity which they never bothered to tell me about! 🤦‍♂️ Worth the fee just to stop the endless checking and worrying.

Have you checked if you're affected by the PATH Act? According to Internal Revenue Code Section 6402(m), certain refundable credits like EITC and ACTC require additional verification which legally prevents the IRS from issuing refunds before mid-February. Are you claiming any of these credits?

This is exactly right. The PATH Act delays are very real and affect millions of taxpayers each year. Even after the mid-February release date, these returns often require additional processing time.

When you mention the PATH Act verification, does that show up as specific codes on the transcript? I'm seeing a 570 and wondering if that's related to PATH Act processing or something else entirely.

I had the same PATH Act delay last year with my EITC. My transcript was completely blank until March 10th, then suddenly everything updated at once and I got my refund 5 days later. The system is working exactly the same as last year from what I can tell.

Tbh there's a huge diff between WMR and transcripts. WMR = basic info that's often outdated. Transcripts = actual backend status. If ur transcript says N/A, system hasn't fully processed ur return yet. Doesn't mean there's a prob, just in the queue. Check transcript every Thurs/Fri morning - that's when they usually update the system.

According to the Return Processing Pipeline (RPP) metrics, the IRS is experiencing a 22.7% increase in processing times for returns filed in the second week of February compared to last year. This is likely due to enhanced fraud detection algorithms implemented in the Master File System. I suggest checking your transcript for Transaction Code 150, which indicates your return has been processed through the initial verification stage. Without this code, your return is still in pre-processing.

I feel this so much. It's like being stuck in tax limbo! Last year my return sat in this pre-processing stage for almost 3 weeks before suddenly moving through all the stages in 2 days. The IRS system is like an old car - sometimes it stalls for no reason, then suddenly roars to life when you least expect it. Hang in there!

I filed on February 13th as well and just saw movement yesterday (March 23rd). My transcript updated with a direct deposit date of March 27th. Last year when I filed on February 15th, I received my refund on March 5th. This year is definitely taking longer for everyone, not just you.
