Where to find 14-digit DLN number on IRS transcript for EIC filer?
I'm looking at my account transcript for the first time and trying to understand what I'm looking at. There's supposed to be a 14-digit number under where it says tax return filed but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. This is my first time actually tracking my refund like this. I always do my own taxes and get EIC.

The 14-digit number you're looking for is called the Document Locator Number (DLN). It appears on your transcript right after the date your return was filed. It's usually near the top of your account transcript. If you qualified for EIC, make sure this number is there because it confirms your return is in the system.

•Perfect! That's exactly where it should be. Keep an eye on any codes that pop up after that 150 👀

Hey, instead of trying to decode all this yourself, you should try taxr.ai - it's this new tool that breaks down your entire transcript and tells you exactly what's happening with your refund. Its only $1 and way better than playing detective with these codes lol https://taxr.ai

The DLN is like your returns fingerprint. If you dont see one, your return hasnt actually been processed yet

Just went through this same thing last week! The DLN is usually formatted like XXXXXXXX-XXX-XX and you'll see it right after the filing date. For EIC filers, make sure you also look for the 766 credit code - that's your earned income credit showing up. The transcript can be overwhelming at first but once you know what to look for it gets easier!

•This is super helpful! I'm also new to reading transcripts and didn't know about the 766 code for EIC. Is there a specific spot on the transcript where that shows up or do I just scroll through and look for it?
