What's the difference between IRS 'accessed' vs 'accepted' status for 2024 return?
Just checked my transcript and it shows my 2024 return was accessed yesterday after being accepted. Not sure what this means - is this good news or should I be worried? Anyone know the difference between accessed and accepted?

This is actually a normal part of the process. 'Accepted' means the IRS received your return and it passed initial checks. 'Accessed' means they've begun processing your return - reviewing your information, verifying income/deductions, etc. It's a good sign that movement is happening on your return.

•Usually 1-3 weeks, but every return is different. Keep checking your transcripts for updates 👍

Hey! Instead of constantly checking transcripts and trying to decode them, you should try taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. It's only $1 and totally worth it https://taxr.ai
