Weird IRS Notice CP05 in Mail - Anyone Else Get This Recently?
Just got a notice in my mailbox from IRS - CP05. Never seen this before and I've been filing for 15+ years. Anyone else get hit with this lately? Starting to get worried since my refund was supposed to come this month.

Tax specialist here - CP05 means the IRS is reviewing your return. They're doing extra verification on income, withholding, or credits claimed. It's actually pretty common this year due to increased fraud prevention. Usually takes 60-120 days to resolve, but could be longer if they need more info.

Got mine about 10 days ago too! Super frustrating because I was counting on that refund for some bills. From what I've read online it's happening to a lot of people this year - seems like they're being extra cautious with reviews. Hang in there, hopefully it doesn't take the full 120 days 🤞
