Wages still showing blank on transcript but other sections updated - what does this mean?

my transcript finally got updated but my wages section is still showing blank. everything else has been updated like my withholdings and everything. been checking everyday and its still blank. anybody know if this is normal or what it could mean for my refund?

This is actually pretty common during processing. When wages show as blank but other fields are populated, it typically means the IRS is still matching your W2 information with their systems. Usually resolves within 2-3 weeks. Keep monitoring your transcript for the wage amounts to populate.

After 6 weeks, you might want to verify that your employer properly submitted your W2 information. Sometimes there can be delays on their end.

hey! instead of checking everyday and stressing, you should try taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly whats going on and when to expect updates. its only $1 and saved me from checking 24/7 lol https://taxr.ai

Have you tried calling the IRS? Sometimes they can see more info than what shows on transcripts

This happened to me last year! My wages were blank for almost a month while everything else updated. Turns out my employer had filed my W-2 late and the IRS was waiting for that info to populate. Once it finally showed up, my refund was approved within a few days. Don't panic - as long as your other info is updating it means they're actively processing your return!

That's really reassuring to hear! Did you have to do anything special or just wait it out? My employer said they filed everything on time but maybe there was still some delay on their end 🤞
