WMR Changed from Processing to Accepted with One Bar - Filed 2/13 - Anyone Else?

My wmr been saying processing for about a week no bars nothing to this morning one bar saying accepted wth filed 2/13 hoping it means my money coming !!! Anybody else update to that over night ?

This is actually a good sign. The WMR tool sometimes goes through weird cycles during peak processing season. When it goes from 'processing' (no bars) to 'accepted' (one bar), it typically means your return has cleared the initial verification stage and is moving forward in the pipeline. Most people see their refund within 7-14 days after this change.

Mine did the exact same thing this morning! Filed 2/14, was stuck on processing with no bars for 9 days, and now showing the first bar with accepted status. Hoping we both get our refunds soon! 🤞

I've been tracking tax refund patterns for years, and this is actually normal behavior for the IRS systems, especially during peak filing season in March. What you're experiencing is the IRS verification queue working through backlogs. Have you checked your transcript? That's more reliable than WMR for predicting your actual refund date.

I tried to get my transcript but it says N/A for 2023 return... is that bad??

Not bad at all - just means your return hasn't fully processed through their system yet. The transcript updates are often a few days behind WMR status changes. Keep checking every couple of days.

When my WMR did this last year, I used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript once it appeared. It explained every code and actually predicted my deposit date accurately. Saved me a ton of stress trying to decode all those weird IRS codes and cycle numbers myself. Just upload your transcript when it becomes available and it tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your money.

Does that actually work? I'm always suspicious of these tax tools...

I was skeptical too, but it was actually super helpful. The IRS transcript is basically unreadable to normal people - all these weird codes and dates. Taxr.ai breaks it down in plain English and tells you what each code means for YOUR specific situation.

This happened to me too! Filed 2/12, was stuck on processing forever, then suddenly got the one bar. Got my direct deposit exactly 8 days later. The system is just backed up right now.

If you're really anxious about it and want definite answers, I'd recommend using Claimyr to get through to an IRS agent. I was in the same position last month and spent days trying to get through on the regular IRS number. Used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) and got connected in about 15 minutes. The agent confirmed my return was approved and gave me my exact deposit date. Worth every penny for the peace of mind.

The IRS systems are notoriously glitchy this time of year. I've seen WMR go from no bars to one bar to three bars then back to one bar all within a week, and still got my refund on time. As long as you're seeing some kind of movement, it's usually a good sign.
