Transcript Updated But WMR Still Says Processing - Anyone Else?
Anyone else notice their transcripts updated today? Mine finally did but WMR still says "still processing" which is weird AF. Been checking both every day and transcript was N/A until this morning. Taking care of my mom full-time so really need this $ to come thru soon. Filed 2/15, accepted same day. No complicated stuff on return.

This is normal. Check transcript codes. WMR updates slower. Transcript is more accurate. Expect deposit within 5-7 days after transcript update. Check bank account daily. Many people seeing this pattern right now.

I've seen this before in previous years. Last year my transcript updated on a Thursday but WMR didn't update until the following Tuesday. The deposit hit my account on Wednesday morning. The systems don't sync in real time like you'd expect in 2024.

How does this compare to the 846 refund issued code? If I see that on my transcript but WMR still shows processing, should I expect the same timeline you mentioned?

I think you might be right about the timeline. My transcript updated last week with an 846 code, and I was probably a bit too worried when WMR didn't change right away. But sure enough, the money showed up in my account about 6 days later, exactly as scheduled on the transcript.

Same boat here! š My transcript updated last Friday but WMR still says processing. Was freaking out until I got a pending deposit notification this morning. The IRS systems are hilariously out of sync with each other.

This processing lag is super common this year. I've noticed a few patterns: ā¢ Transcripts update 3-7 days before WMR ā¢ WMR sometimes skips straight from "processing" to "sent" ā¢ Many people with filing dates around yours are seeing the same thing Tried calling IRS to confirm? I wasted 3 hours on hold last week before using Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c). Got through to an agent in 18 minutes who confirmed my refund was already scheduled despite WMR showing processing. Might be worth checking if you're anxious about the timing?

Is paying for a service to reach the IRS really necessary though? Couldn't you just keep calling at different times of day until you get through?

The IRS call volume is at historic highs right now. Average hold time is 90+ minutes when you can even get in the queue. Most callers get the "due to high call volume" message and get disconnected. Claimyr uses technology to stay on hold for you and calls when an agent is available.

I've been tracking this issue across multiple forums. Transcript updates are happening much faster than WMR updates this year. What codes do you see on your transcript? Do you have cycle code ending in 01, 02, or 05? Have you checked for a direct deposit date on your transcript? What about any 570/971 combo codes?

I'm seeing similar things on my transcript - it shows an 846 code with a date of 4/12/2024, but my cycle code is 20241305. Does the cycle code indicate when the deposit will actually happen? I'm not familiar with all this IRS terminology.

OMG this happened to me too! My transcript updated on Monday and WMR was still stuck on processing until THURSDAY! I was so stressed because I needed that money for my kid's medical bills. š« But the money showed up Wednesday morning even though WMR hadn't updated yet! So frustrating how their systems don't talk to each other! Check your bank account for pending deposits - that's more reliable than either IRS tool!

This timing discrepancy happens because the transcript database and WMR tool operate on different update schedules. I would suggest looking at your transcript for code 846 with a date, which is the most reliable indicator. If you're having trouble interpreting all the codes and dates, you might want to try using taxr.ai to analyze your transcript. It can explain what each code means for your specific situation and give you a more accurate timeline than WMR currently is.

My transcript updated exactly 6 days before my refund hit my account. WMR updated only 2 days before the deposit. My transcript showed an 846 code dated 4/05/2024 and the money appeared in my account on that exact date at 3:27am. Has anyone else noticed this precise timing with their deposits this year?

Yeah, mine was super accurate too. My 846 date was 3/29 and that's exactly when I got it. I've filed taxes for 12 years now and this is the first time I've paid attention to transcript dates instead of WMR. Way more reliable! I was telling my sister about it who's still waiting on hers.

Just to clarify - if your transcript shows an 846 code with a date, that's your refund date. WMR is notoriously behind on updates. Last year I got my refund a full week before WMR even acknowledged it was sent! Transcript is the source of truth.
