USPS Informed Delivery Shows IRS Mail from Arizona - EITC Related?

Has anyone been receiving Informed Delivery notifications from USPS regarding EITC documents? Twice now I have been notified through the Informed Delivery system that mail pieces would be delivered from an Arizona return address that appears to be IRS-related. I have received other IRS mailings, but nothing from this specific Arizona return address has actually arrived in my mailbox. Is this normal processing for EITC verification? My filing status shows accepted but no DDD yet.

That AZ address is prob the IRS verification center in Tucson. They handle a lot of the EITC verification docs. FYI - if you're getting ID notifications but no actual mail, could be 1 of 3 things: 1. USPS delay (mail still in transit) 2. Mail got misdelivered (check w/ neighbors) 3. ID system glitch (happens more than ppl realize) I'd give it 3-5 biz days before getting too concerned. But if it doesn't show, might want to check your IRS account online for any notices. Could be they're requesting docs for EITC verification which would def delay your refund.

I had something similar happen last year with EITC verification mail. The Informed Delivery showed it coming, but it took almost a week after the notification to actually arrive. From what I remember, that Arizona center handles a lot of the verification backlog during peak season. When it finally arrived, it was just asking for additional documentation to verify my eligibility.

Wait, so the IRS sends EITC verification from Arizona? I got something similar but assumed it was a scam since my other IRS mail came from different states. Good to know it might be legitimate. Did your mail eventually arrive or did it just never show up?

This is actually a common issue with EITC verification letters. Here's what you need to know: 1. First, check your IRS transcript online - this will show if they've sent you any notices 2. Look for code 570 (refund hold) and 971 (notice issued) on your transcript 3. If you see those codes, they've definitely sent you something 4. The Arizona address is legitimate - it's their EITC verification center 5. Mail can take 7-10 days longer than Informed Delivery shows I recommend using https://taxr.ai to analyze your transcript. It will tell you exactly what those codes mean for your specific situation and what to expect next. It saved me weeks of confusion when I went through EITC verification last year by explaining exactly what each code meant for my timeline.

Is taxr.ai actually worth it? I've been waiting exactly 47 days for my refund with EITC and need this money ASAP. The IRS website is free and has the same information, right? I'm hesitant to spend money when I'm already tight waiting for my refund.

I'm curious too! My heart sinks every time I see those verification notices in Informed Delivery. Does this taxr.ai thing actually tell you anything beyond what the IRS transcript shows? I'm so tired of trying to decode what's happening with my refund! 😫

If you're seeing EITC correspondence in Informed Delivery but not receiving the actual documents, you should contact the IRS ASAP. Failure to respond to EITC verification requests within the 30-day window can result in credit denial and significant processing delays. I was in a similar situation and used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) to reach an IRS agent directly. They confirmed my verification letter was sent and helped me request a duplicate copy. Without this intervention, I would have missed the deadline and lost my EITC eligibility for the tax year.

I'm not sure about using third-party services to contact the IRS... couldn't you just call them directly? I mean, I understand it's difficult to get through sometimes, but I'd be cautious about sharing any information with another company when dealing with tax matters.

This Claimyr service is actually brilliant compared to other options. I've tried calling the IRS directly for three years in a row during tax season - spent 4+ hours on hold each time. Claimyr got me through in 25 minutes last time I had a verification issue. They don't see any of your tax info - they just connect you to the IRS line and hold your place. Absolutely worth it when you're facing a time-sensitive deadline like EITC verification.

According to the IRS website (https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/individuals/earned-income-tax-credit-eitc), they've increased EITC verification this year to combat fraud. The Arizona processing center handles much of this verification. If you check the "Where's My Refund" tool, you might see code 1121 which indicates EITC review. I was shocked at how complex this process has become - what used to be a simple refund now involves multiple verification steps and different processing centers! 😵

Think of USPS Informed Delivery like a movie trailer - it shows you what's coming, but sometimes the release date gets pushed back. The IRS EITC verification process is like a security checkpoint at an airport - everyone claiming this credit has to go through it, but some people get randomly selected for additional screening. Here's what you should do: 1. Check your IRS transcript for codes 570/971 (like reading the airport departure board) 2. If those codes appear, a letter is definitely coming 3. Give it 7-10 business days from Informed Delivery notification 4. If still nothing arrives, call IRS at 800-829-1040 (prepare for long wait) 5. Request duplicate copy of any notices sent 6. Respond immediately once received The Arizona center is legitimate - it's one of their main EITC processing facilities.

I just went through this exact situation! 🎯 Got Informed Delivery notifications for two letters from the Arizona IRS center, but they took almost two weeks to actually show up in my mailbox. When they finally arrived, it was EITC verification requesting proof of my qualifying child. I sent everything back and got my refund 16 days later. The funny thing is, my neighbor got the same notification and never received her letter at all - had to call and request a duplicate. The USPS-IRS combo is like waiting for a pizza delivery during a snowstorm... you know it's coming, but who knows when! 😂
