TurboTax $133 Fees Deducted From Refund Transfer - Filed Jan 18th, Payment Status Now "Completed" - When Will Refund Arrive?
Just got confirmation that my TurboTax fees of $133 were taken out through refund transfer. I filed on January 18th using TurboTax Live Basic ($49 with max benefits and live help), and got the payment confirmation showing "Payment Completed" for my refund transfer. The order details show everything was processed on 1/18/2025 and they've now withdrawn their fees. I just received a notification from TurboTax that says "Thanks for your payment" with all the details of my transaction. It shows my Selected Order Number from 1/18/2025 for $133, with the order date listed as January 18, 2025. The payment method is listed as "Refund Transfer" and the Order Status says "Payment Completed." The cardholder details section shows I used TurboTax Live Basic which was $49 plus I added the max benefits and live help options. Does this mean my refund is about to hit my account? I've been anxiously waiting since I filed on January 18th and just got this payment confirmation today. I'm hoping this is a good sign that my money is coming soon. Is the payment completion notification usually followed by the actual refund deposit? How much longer should I expect to wait now that TurboTax has taken their fees? This has been a long wait already - almost a month since filing - and I'm really counting on this refund to come through soon.

The payment confirmation shows you were charged $133 through refund transfer for your TurboTax filing on January 18, 2025. While the order status shows "Payment Completed," this only confirms that TurboTax has successfully received their fees from your refund - it doesn't indicate when your actual refund will arrive. Your order breakdown includes TurboTax Live Basic ($49) plus additional services for max benefits and live help, totaling $133. The refund transfer method means these fees were deducted directly from your tax refund rather than paid upfront. To track your actual refund status, you'll need to check either: - Where's My Refund (WMR) tool on the IRS website - Your IRS transcript These tools will give you the most accurate timeline for when your remaining refund amount will be deposited into your account.

You can get them at irs.gov/transcripts but fair warning the site can be confusing to navigate

Hey! I've been using this tool called taxr.ai - it actually analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly whats happening with your refund and when to expect it. Its only $1 and WAY better than trying to decode everything yourself. https://taxr.ai

A refund transfer just means you chose to have your prep fees taken out of your refund instead of paying upfront. TurboTax gets paid first, then you get whats left. Could still be weeks before you see anything tbh
