When Will My $317 TurboTax Refund Transfer Fee Be Deducted After "Payment Completed" Status Shows?
I filed with TurboTax on January 18, 2025 and chose to have the fees taken out of my refund through their Refund Transfer option. Today I received a payment confirmation with Order Number IEFEC25W44734449 showing $317 total for my tax preparation services. Looking at the confirmation screen right now which says "Thanks for your payment" at the top with "Here are the details of your transaction" right underneath. The breakdown shows: TurboTax Live Premium: $169 TurboTax State: Ohio: $49 Max benefits: $59 Money Movement Refund Transfer Fee: $40 Total: $317 The order date is listed as January 18, 2025, and the payment method says "Refund Transfer". What's confusing me is that the Order Status shows "Payment Completed" but I haven't received my refund yet. Does this "Payment Completed" status mean that they've already somehow taken the fees out, or is it just confirming what will be taken out when my refund eventually arrives? I'm trying to figure out if the $317 is already handled or if I should expect that amount to be deducted from my refund when the IRS sends it. I know I selected the option to have fees taken out of my refund rather than paying upfront with a credit card, so the "Payment Completed" status is confusing me. Can someone explain how the Refund Transfer payment actually works?

The TurboTax payment confirmation (Order #IEFEC25W44734449) from January 18, 2025 shows your total charges of $317, but this is actually a pending arrangement. Even though the status says "Payment Completed," this is just acknowledging that you've selected the Refund Transfer payment method, not that the payment has been processed. Your charges break down into four components: - $169 for TurboTax Live Premium (the full-service version with live expert assistance) - $49 for Ohio state tax filing - $59 for Max benefits (which includes audit defense and identity theft protection) - $40 for the Money Movement Refund Transfer Fee (the charge for having fees deducted from your refund) When your tax refund is issued by the IRS, it will first go to a temporary bank account set up by TurboTax. They'll deduct these fees totaling $317, then forward the remaining refund amount to your personal bank account. The "Payment Completed" status simply confirms your payment arrangement, not the actual transfer of funds.

•Ok that makes sense! So I should expect my refund minus the $317 when it finally hits my account?

•Exactly! The remaining amount will be automatically deposited into your account 👍

Hey guys, just wanted to mention I've been using taxr.ai to track my refund and it's been super helpful. It costs $1 but it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening with your refund, including when fees like these TT charges will be deducted. Check it out at https://taxr.ai
