Turbo Tax shows return accepted but IRS website only shows received - which status is correct?

Getting mixed signals here. Turbo Tax is telling me my return was accepted and approved, but when I check the IRS website it only shows received status. Been checking both places and im confused about which one is actually correct. Anyone know whats going on with this?

The IRS website (Where's My Refund tool) is the definitive source for your return status. TurboTax only shows that they successfully transmitted your return to the IRS. 'Received' means the IRS has your return and it's in their processing queue. You'll see it change to 'approved' on the IRS site when they finish processing.

ohh that makes sense! So basically turbo tax is just saying they sent it successfully?

Exactly! They're just confirming they did their part of getting it to the IRS 👍

Hey I actually had the same issue and found this amazing tool called taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening with your return and when to expect your refund. Only costs a buck but totally worth it https://taxr.ai

Yeah its legit! Used it last week and it told me exactly why my return was delayed and when id get paid. Way better than guessing from WMR status 💯

Try checking your tax transcript instead. It'll give you way more info than the WMR tool or turbotax

Go to irs.gov and make an account, then look for tax records. But honestly that taxr.ai tool someone mentioned above is way easier, it reads all that transcript stuff for you
