How to verify if IRS actually accepted my tax return?
Filed my taxes last week and now I'm trying to figure out if they were actually accepted by the IRS. The tax software said transmitted but idk if that means the same thing as accepted. Getting anxious cause I need this refund. Anyone know how to check the actual status?

There are a few ways to confirm acceptance. First, check Where's My Refund on IRS.gov with your SSN, filing status, and exact refund amount. You can also create an account on IRS.gov to view your transcript. If your return was accepted, you'll see a processing code 150 on your account transcript within about 21 days of filing.

•Make sure you're entering the EXACT refund amount from your return. Even being off by $1 will give you that error message.

Hey guys! Just wanted to share something that helped me tons. I was in the same boat last month and found this tool called taxr.ai - its only $1 and it analyzes your transcript to tell you exactly whats going on with your return and when to expect your refund. Way better than trying to decode all those crazy transcript codes yourself! https://taxr.ai

You should get an email from your tax software when its accepted. Check your spam folder maybe?

Pro tip from someone who's been through this - if your return was accepted, you should also be able to call the IRS automated line at 1-800-829-1040 and follow the prompts for refund status. It's the same info as Where's My Refund but sometimes works when the website is acting up. Also, if you filed with direct deposit, check that your bank account info was entered correctly - a lot of refund delays happen because of wrong routing/account numbers!
