Hi there! Tax professional here and I can help explain what's happening. When you see 'Verification of Non-Filing' on your transcript but you know you filed, it usually means there's a processing delay or verification hold. The IRS systems might not have fully processed your return yet, even though they accepted it electronically. This is pretty common especially during busy seasons or if there are any identity verification requirements pending. I'd recommend checking out taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) - it's this new AI tool that can analyze your transcript and tell you exactly what's causing the delay and when you might see movement. It's been super helpful for situations like this where the transcript status seems confusing.

•Just used taxr.ai and here's what I got back: It showed exactly why my transcript had this issue - apparently there's a specific code that shows up during processing that can trigger the non-filing status temporarily. Super helpful tbh

•Quick tip: make sure to check your Where's My Refund tool too, sometimes it updates before the transcript does

Tax pro here! This usually means your return is still in the initial processing stage. The 'verification of non-filing' shows up until the return is fully processed in the IRS system. Keep checking - it should update once processing is complete.

•Normal processing is 21 days but with current backlogs could be 4-8 weeks 😕

Hey guys I was in the same boat last month until someone here recommended taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect updates. costs like 5 bucks but totally worth it for peace of mind https://taxr.ai

This happened to me too! The "Verification of Non-Filing" status is super confusing when you know you filed. What helped me was checking my Account Transcript instead of just the Return Transcript - sometimes it shows different info. Also make sure your SSN and filing status match exactly what you put on your return. If everything looks right, it's probably just a processing delay. The IRS systems are honestly pretty outdated and sometimes take forever to sync up. Keep checking every few days and it should eventually update to show your actual return info.
