Hey there! I totally understand the confusion with the 810/811 codes - this is actually pretty common. The 810 freeze code is usually placed when the needs to something, and the 811 code means they've removed that freeze. The dates might look weird because the 811 is backdated to when the original 810 was placed - this is normal procedure. Based on what you're seeing, this is actually good news! It means whatever they needed to do is complete and your return is moving forward again. If you want a really detailed breakdown of your transcript and estimated timeline, check out taxr.ai - it's been super helpful for understanding all these weird codes and getting accurate refund dates.

•It's been pretty spot on for me and lots of others here. Their AI reads all your docs and gives you specific dates and explanations. Way better than guessing 🤷♂️

•This is super helpful! I've been stressing about similar codes on my transcript and had no idea about the backdating thing. Makes so much more sense now why the dates looked weird. Thanks for breaking it down!

•This is so reassuring to read! I'm dealing with the same codes right now and was totally panicking thinking something was wrong with my return. The backdating explanation makes perfect sense now - I was so confused why both codes had the same date when I clearly saw the 811 appear later. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, it really helps to know this is normal!

•This thread is so helpful! I'm new to dealing with codes and was totally lost when I saw similar stuff on my transcript. The backdating explanation makes everything click - I was wondering how two codes could have the same date when I clearly saw them appear at different times. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here, it's way more helpful than trying to decode the website alone!

Your account transcript indicates the following: Code 810: This code signifies that a refund freeze was placed on your account. It indicates that the has put a hold on your refund for some reason, which could range from needs to issues requiring further review. Code 811: This code represents the of the refund freeze initially indicated by the 810 code. It means that whatever caused the freeze has been resolved, and the freeze on your refund has been lifted. Your concern seems to be about the dates. Both the 810 and 811 codes are listed with the same date. This might seem confusing because you noticed the 811 code appearing only later when you checked your transcripts again. The system updates transcripts in cycles, and sometimes actions that take place may not immediately reflect on the taxpayer’s viewable transcript until the next update cycle. It's possible that the the quickly, removing the freeze almost as soon as it was placed, but the update to your transcript showing the 811 code only appeared after a delay. Now that the 811 code is showing, it suggests that the no longer has a hold on your refund. However, this does not necessarily mean the refund has been issued yet. The presence of an 846 code is what typically indicates the actual release of a refund.

I had the exact same thing happen! The 810/811 codes with the same date really threw me off at first. What Zainab explained is spot on - the backdates the 811 code to match when the 810 freeze was originally placed. It's just how their system works. The good news is that 811 means your return is no longer frozen and should be processing normally again. Keep checking for an 846 code which will show your actual refund release date. In my experience, once I saw the 811, my refund came within 1-2 weeks. Hang in there!

Hey! I went through this exact same situation a few months ago and it's totally normal to be confused by those codes. The 810/811 codes appearing with the same date is actually standard procedure - they backdate the 811 to when the original 810 freeze was placed. It doesn't mean there was an error or anything fishy going on. The reason you're just seeing the 811 now is because the updates transcripts in batches, so sometimes there's a delay between when they actually remove the freeze and when it shows up on your viewable transcript. The good news is that 811 means your return is moving forward again! Now you'll want to watch for an 846 code which will show your actual refund date. In my case, I got my refund about 10 days after the 811 appeared. Stay patient - you're in the home stretch now!

I've been through this exact same confusing situation! The 810/811 code dating thing is super misleading at first glance. What's happening is the places the 810 freeze, does their (which could be anything from income to checking for duplicate returns), and then removes it with the 811 code. But their system backdates the 811 to match the 810 date - it's just how their processing works, not an error. The delay you're seeing is because transcripts don't update in real time. Your 811 code means whatever they needed to is done and your return is back in normal processing. Keep an eye out for an 846 code with a DDD (Direct Deposit Date) - that's when you'll know exactly when your refund is coming. Usually happens within a couple weeks of seeing the 811. You're almost there!
