Tax return accepted 5 days ago - am I in IRS test batch? FreeTaxUSA filer
Got my return accepted about 5 days ago with FreeTaxUSA. Got texts for both federal and state saying accepted. Anyone know if this means I'm in the test batch? Really need this refund asap and trying to figure out my timeline.

Tax pro here - being 'accepted' just means your return passed the initial format check. It doesn't mean you're in the test batch. The test batch is typically done in late December/early January before the official filing season starts. You're in the regular processing queue now.

Generally 21 days for simple returns, but could be longer if you claimed certain credits or theres any verification needed
