Stuck with code 810 freeze & 766 credit - Tax preparer ghosted me, scared to amend
Been dealing with an 810 freeze since February. Only update after verification was code 766. My tax preparer disappeared after I questioned them about credits they added. Nobody wants to help remove it because they're worried about IRS liability. Should I try amending myself or wait for electronic amendments to open up? Really nervous about trusting another preparer after this mess.
