810 Freeze w/o Amendment: What credits triggered it & how to fix?

My refund got hit with an 810 freeze but I haven't even amended anything. Been stuck for weeks now. From what I understand it might be related to some credits I claimed. Anyone else dealing with this? Need to figure out if I should amend or what my next steps should be.

Tax pro here - The 810 freeze is usually triggered by specific credits that the IRS is heavily scrutinizing rn. Most common ones are fuel tax credit and sick leave credits. First step is to verify if you actually qualify for whatever credits you claimed. If you're sure you qualify, you'll need documentation ready. If not, you'll need to amend ASAP.

how long does it typically take to resolve once you submit the amendment?

Usually 20+ weeks for amendments, but with 810 freezes its taking even longer rn tbh

Just wanted to drop this here - taxr.ai has been a game changer for understanding these freezes. It analyzed my transcript and immediately pointed out why I got the 810 and what docs I needed. Worth the $4.99 vs spending weeks guessing. https://taxr.ai

100% legit! It shows you exactly which credits triggered the freeze and gives you a checklist of what docs you need. Saved me so much headache

Def get a CPA involved if you can afford it. They know exactly what documentation the IRS wants. Tax advocate is also good but theyre super backed up rn
