State Tax Offset Then Deposited? Got Both Offset Letter & Direct Deposit Within 7 Days - What's Going On?
Got a letter saying my state refund was being offset. I called and reported fraud, and now 7 days later the full amount just hit my bank account! Super confused since they already said it was going to offset. Anyone know what this means? Is this normal or should I be worried?

This actually happens more often than you'd think. When you reported fraud, it likely triggered a manual review that stopped the offset. The system probably processed your refund normally while the offset was suspended. Keep the money in your account for at least 2-3 weeks though, just to make sure they don't reverse it.
