SBTPG Shows 'Funded' Status - Is My Refund On The Way?

Quick technical question regarding SBTPG processing protocol: If my account status shows 'funded' within the SBTPG portal, does that definitively indicate they've initiated the disbursement of my refund to my designated account, or is there an additional processing interval before actual transmission occurs? This is our first filing season as a married couple, and I'm trying to understand the exact sequence of events in the post-acceptance phase. I've been monitoring TPG's portal daily to track progression.

Last year when mine showed 'funded' on SBTPG, it took about 24-36 hours before it actually hit my bank account. The funded status means they've received your refund from the IRS and are processing it, but they still have to deduct their fees and then initiate the transfer to your bank. Your bank might also hold it for 1-2 business days depending on their policies. I'd say you're close, but not quite there yet.

Thx for the info! Any way to check if they've actually sent it to my bank yet? SBTPG site isn't super clear tbh

Isn't it interesting how we're essentially waiting for a middleman to process money that's already ours? When my SBTPG showed funded last year, I called my bank directly to ask if they saw any pending deposits. They could see the incoming ACH before it was even available in my account. Have you tried contacting your bank's ACH department to check for pending transactions?

According to IRS Publication 1345 which governs authorized e-file providers, SBTPG (as a Refund Settlement Product provider) must process and disburse funds within 24 hours of receipt from the Treasury. The 'funded' status indicates they've received your refund from the IRS, but they still need to process fee deductions and initiate the transfer. While they're required to send it quickly, banks aren't under the same obligation for making funds available.

I've seen mixed timelines on this. On February 18th, my SBTPG showed funded but the money didn't hit until February 22nd. Is there any recourse if they don't meet that 24-hour requirement? Or is this another case of rules without enforcement?

SBTPG funding process is more complex than most realize: • 'Funded' = IRS sent your money to SBTPG • They still need to deduct fees • Then initiate ACH transfer to your bank • Then your bank needs to process the deposit I was shocked when I learned it could take 2-5 business days AFTER the 'funded' status! The whole point of paying for tax prep with your refund is supposed to be convenience, but then they hold your money hostage for days. 🙄

What specific terminology should I be looking for in my SBTPG account to know it's actually been sent to my bank? Is there a status that changes from 'funded' to something else like 'disbursed' or 'transferred'?

Have you tried calling SBTPG to get a specific timeline? I was in this exact situation last month and spent THREE DAYS trying to get through to their customer service. Finally used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) to connect with an agent who confirmed they had initiated the transfer to my bank that morning. If you're anxious about when the money will arrive, it might be worth using Claimyr to get a direct answer rather than checking the website repeatedly. They got me through to a rep in about 15 minutes when I'd been trying for days.

I tracked this exact process last month. From 'funded' status to money in my account took exactly 53 hours and 17 minutes. SBTPG received my $3,842 refund on Tuesday at 9:14am, and it was deposited in my bank account on Thursday at 2:31pm. The SBTPG portal never updated beyond 'funded' - it stayed that way even after I had the money. My bank showed it as pending for about 12 hours before it was available.

SBTPG is just sitting on your money making interest. They got your refund from the IRS but haven't sent it to your bank yet. When mine said funded last month, it took 3 more days to hit my account. They never update the status to tell you when they actually send it out. Just keep checking your bank account, not the SBTPG site.

It's like they're playing hot potato with our money, isn't it? They hold it just long enough to make some interest but not long enough to cause too many complaints. Just to be clear - there's no additional status after 'funded' that I should be looking for? The next update will just be seeing it in my bank account?
