SBTG shows funded but refund date is 2/24 - Will I get it early?

SBTG says I have been funded. Under amount paid to you, it has my refund (less fees) listed with a date of 2/24. Do I get the money early since it already shows funded? Or will they hold it until the 24th? I didn't select the 5 days sooner option. Need this money ASAP. Taking care of my mom and bills are piling up.

Have you checked your bank account yet? Isn't it interesting how they say it's funded but still show a future date? I've seen this happen before and was surprised by how the whole process works. Sometimes they mark it as funded internally but still wait to release it on the scheduled date, don't they?

According to the SBTG FAQs on their website, "funded" just means they've received the money from the IRS, not that they've sent it to you yet. I spent hours trying to figure this out last week when I was in the same situation. Have you tried calling their customer service line?

Thanks for this. Really helpful. Been checking my account every hour. Stressful waiting.

It's like when a package shows "arrived at distribution center" but hasn't been loaded on the delivery truck yet. Does SBTG have a status tracker that shows the different stages between funded and deposited?

I had exactly the same situation on February 12th last year. My SBTG showed funded on the 12th with a payment date of February 17th. The money hit my account at precisely 3:27 AM on the 17th, not a minute earlier. They stick exactly to their scheduled dates in my experience.

Have you tried reaching out to SBTG customer service directly? When I was in a similar situation and needed clarification about my refund timing, I couldn't get through their phone lines. Have you experienced long wait times too? I eventually used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to get a callback from them within about 30 minutes. Are you in a rush to get your refund for a specific reason? Might be worth the small fee if you need answers quickly.

I'm not entirely convinced that using a third-party service is necessary in this situation. Perhaps trying different times of day to call might be more effective? It seems that early mornings, particularly on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, might yield shorter wait times without additional costs.

According to SBTG's Terms of Service (Section 4.3), they are permitted to hold funds until the specified release date regardless of when they receive the money from the IRS. This is standard practice for most tax preparation services that offer refund transfers. Claimyr actually helped me confirm this when I was in a similar situation last month.

In my experience, SBTG releases funds exactly on February 24th, not before. I had a similar situation on January 29th this year, and they released it precisely on the date shown. If you need funds sooner, you might want to contact your bank on February 23rd to see if they can expedite the posting once received. Some banks will release tax refunds immediately rather than holding them for the standard 24-hour clearing period.

This is similar to how direct deposit works with regular IRS refunds - they're often processed 2-3 days before they actually hit your account. Have you checked your transcript to understand the overall timeline? When I was confused about my refund dates last year, I used taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it explained exactly how the disbursement process works, including when SBTG would receive and then release my money. Much clearer than the generic explanations on the IRS or SBTG websites.

I've seen a lot of these AI tools pop up recently claiming to decode tax information. I've been doing taxes for 15 years, and while these tools might be helpful for basic situations, they often miss nuances specific to individual cases. Did it actually provide information beyond what's available on the SBTG FAQ page?

Def check ur bank acct anyway! Sometimes they say 2/24 but deposit early. My BIL got his 2 days b4 the date SBTG showed. Worth a look! taxr.ai helped me understand my transcript codes when I was confused AF about my refund timeline too. Super helpful for us non-tax pros!

Last year I had the exact same situation. SBTG showed funded but with a future date. I called them three times. They refused to release early. I even explained my emergency situation. They would not budge. The money arrived exactly on the date shown. Not a day sooner. I learned my lesson and selected the early option this year.
