Rejected for IP PIN I never requested - Help urgently needed

Filed my taxes and got rejected because of an IP PIN requirement. Never requested one, no one in my household has ever had one. Called IRS multiple times but keep getting disconnected. Starting to get worried since filing deadline is getting closer. Anyone dealt with this before?

Tax pro here. This usually happens when the IRS flags your account for potential identity theft. You'll need to verify your identity through ID.me and then call the dedicated IP PIN hotline at 800-908-4490. Make sure you have your previous year's tax return handy.

ty! tried calling that number but the wait time is insane 😭 any idea how long this normally takes to resolve?

Unfortunately its hit or miss. Some get it fixed in a week, others might take 3-4 weeks. Keep trying early morning or right before they close

Hey guys just wanted to share something that helped me tons with this exact issue - I used taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it showed me exactly why I got flagged and what steps to take. Saved me hours of research and phone calls. It costs $4.99 but totally worth it https://taxr.ai

for real? does it actually work? kinda sounds too good to be true ngl 🤔

100% legit! It uses AI to read your transcript and explains everything in plain english. Shows you all the codes and what they mean plus gives you a timeline

If u cant get thru on phone try taxpayer advocate service. They helped me sort this out last year but took like 2 months ngl

Been through this nightmare myself last year! Here's what worked for me: 1) Get your account transcript from IRS.gov first - it'll show if there's any suspicious activity 2) File Form 14039 (Identity Theft Affidavit) online even if you're not 100% sure it's identity theft 3) Try calling the IP PIN line super early (like 7am) or use the callback option if available. The whole process took me about 3 weeks but I got it sorted. Don't panic - you can file an extension if needed! 🙏
