Rejected for IP PIN I never requested - Help urgently needed
Filed my taxes and got rejected because of an IP PIN requirement. Never requested one, no one in my household has ever had one. Called IRS multiple times but keep getting disconnected. Starting to get worried since filing deadline is getting closer. Anyone dealt with this before?

Tax pro here. This usually happens when the IRS flags your account for potential identity theft. You'll need to verify your identity through ID.me and then call the dedicated IP PIN hotline at 800-908-4490. Make sure you have your previous year's tax return handy.

•Unfortunately its hit or miss. Some get it fixed in a week, others might take 3-4 weeks. Keep trying early morning or right before they close
